Yet you begin you’re sentences with lower case letters. And make comments like this one.
i totally agree. if you were using said system to not just monitor, but also control all your variables in the grow, thats one thing. but if your looking for something to just monitor, its gunna require that input no matter what, and like said, to what end. Seems like the only reason you would want such software would be to completely automate. if your completely automated, then you already know your strain and its requirements, meaning keeping tabs on what your adding would be unnecessary, you already know what they like.

iam sorry, but capital letters are not a priority on a public forum for me. your lucky i even use my spell check, which is more than i can say for many on this site.. as for your post, ill just repost what i put in the other thread (you know, where you were asking people to contribute information on how to get into the industry, something that by your post before you SHOULD already know):

iam sorry you misconstrued my statement. i was obviously (at least to me) stating that there are no subjects as far as computer software that are foreign to me. yes i may have less personal experience with one topic over another, but i am quite trained i assure you. you see, i HAVE dealt with monitoring software for growing, and again, i say it is only necessary if you wish to automate, or truly are running a business where you need to be keeping such records. the home grower for all intents and purposes probably should NOT be keeping these records, as many who are MMJ legal grow more than they should, and many others are not even legal at all. my opinion was not unwanted, and was far from ignorant. i also avoided details about what i used in the past A. because he did not state he wanted to automate and B. because again, that was indeed something that i only worked with briefly.

you on the other hand claimed to have implemented and so much as modified such software for a company, that by the appearance of this thread, does not even exist. your post clearly shows that you want to continue to ignore this FACT and twist my words into some meaning only you construed to hide your deception. My education taught me to use a computer inside and out, it is my lifeline, my passion (even growing comes second, and i really like what ive been learning about growing), and my profession. I learned in college how to LEARN anything i wanted or needed to about software or hardware on the job through research and implementation of the skills i was taught. You don't need to go to a special weed school just to learn how to operate a computer program that can be used for any number of applications, as it would really only be a complex form of excel (or any other number of apps meant for data entry and retention), or some sort of automation software.

keep dodging please, its funny.

Well i have a Sentinel Controller that has a data port on it to do just this very thing. and was one of the main reasons that i paid such a price for it. but thus far they have not come out with the software to take advantage of it.. Bummer ! and pissed..! yes it would be nice to data log your grow room environment though out the day. and make adjustment for hot times ect. gee what a concept..this kind of data can not be enterd manualy or tracked without sensor logs.

Hi. Maybe you should interest in Dallas 1-wire sensors. There are temp (DS18S20), humity (DS 2438 with Honywell HIH 4000). Please look at this site http://www.hobby-boards.com/catalog/index.php?cPath=22 , lots ready seansor with schematic. You can make it a lot cheaper by yourself. DS 2438 also works like A/D converter, it is posible to feed it with 0-5 V, for examble from CO2 regulator/monitor (HVAC) or other sources. For logging/graphing are needed only program called digitemp, rrdtool, and old pc with linux. Please google it, lots of faq and ready scripts.
