Infared Blocking

Whattup people. Im gathering materials for a homemade grow box and one major thing i'll need is infrared blocking/shielding so those pesky pigs won't notice any heat signature from my HPS light system. If anyone knows of any kind of material or method that can be used to prevent being detected lemme know!

From what I have read, FLIR is a heat sensing mechanism. It identifies the heat signature. If you wrapped yourself in the material and were running around, it would possibly work but I don't see how the material will stop the heat from escaping and heating the walls and roof of your home thereby leaving a signature.

I may be wrong, just my 2 cents.

I've been wondering about this as well, but I have come to the conclusion that if they scanned every single house for this type of signature 1. They'd make so many false assumptions as there is heaps in any single house that gives off a lot of heat, take a normal single bulb for instance, fluoro or incandescent, then there's heaps of appliances. 2. If they did this to normal households they'd be wasting thier time, what a huge raid for 1 or 2g worth of weed (if you know your shit and are doing a decent grow that is)? I don't think they are after the small guys as much as they are after the commercial growers, speed labs, gun runners etc...

I could be off, or wrong though and I'd be alot more careful (if your worried) for night time setups.

DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY HORROR STORIES ABOUT THIS TYPE OF BUST ?

Sorry, me again, also if your talking about the same shit they use on the cop shows, if you can think back about it to the last show you saw when they chase people with the choppers at night sometimes they lose them when they run under trees and into houses and stuff, and thats why they always bring in the dogs to the round about area.

Can anyone else remember that ?

Is this the same type of imaging or is there another more sensitive kind?

Yea, that is a bit of heat

stop speaking on shit you know nothing about....

if 2,000 watts is a bit of heat...

why is that people keep 4 to 5 space heaters in their house?

you do realize space heaters run almost 1500 watts a piece.

It's about to be not winter anymore...WTF would someone be doing running space heaters in spring or summer?

And fuck you for getting an attitude with me.

its not an attitude bro, its common sense.

how are you telling somebody about what causes heat and how much is too much light, when your ass is having germination problems asking for help.

it just doesnt add up.

people always get scared that they are using up too much electricity...and then people like you always confirm paranoia....when its just that paranoia...

and since you wanna be a smart ass. a heater AS WELL as a cooler fan will take up the same watts... you ever noticed on those heater/cooler fans they have adjustable temps? DUHHH

also if you didnt know big screen tvs take up 100-800watts. microwaves take up around 1000-1500watts.

heaters/fans take up to 200-1500 watts.

60 watt incandescants multiple that by however many sockets are in the house.... i bet you didnt think of that.

please dont pass bad information/bad advice around.

2000 watts is not nearly enough to worry. people can easily burn thru 2000 watts.

so like i said before COD4, speak on what you know and NOT WHAT YOU HEAR or think.

ignorance is bliss and it is very contagious

Sounds good. I'mma stop being a paranoid mofukker, its just that i wanted to have it all on lock and my bud told me about the infrared nonsense. Now i gotta go and do a 'joint venture' ONE

no, being paranoid is good....but sometimes when you get too paranoid its hella unhealthy.. real stressful.

fyi, i've never known anybody to get busted with JUST Infrared. NEVER. Infrared has always been used to put the icing on the cake.

just make sure you're not stupid with your shit, and cover your tracks.

that covers everything from SMELL, discarding of used mediums, old/empty nutrients bottles, etc. etc.

blv it or not....why would they go thru IR and all the procedures, expenses, and getting a warrant from the judge when they could tell the garbage man to separate your trash and detain it for them for free well not for free, but much less hassle.

then if they find some evidence in your trash (which is not private once you put it on the curb), they will try to get warrants for your electricity then they may use IR just to put a knife in the coffin.

most folks get busted for stealing electricity, running their lips...flapping their gums, and trash.

air cooling lights also HELP defeat the purpose of using IR to find grow ops

I too am afraid of using my household oven long durations of time. Pigs might bust in and take my juicy tender ribs.
