I have one question I have hlg 185 @1400 driver, with 4 3070 cree 80 cri on it...
Would I gain anything If i swapped my 3070 for 1212 gen6 90 cri ?

youd gain 90cri

depending on the bin of your 3070s, the 1212s are prob equally as efficient

I think its cbx.. but is it worth the change?

only thing i dont know does it matter , 3070 are 3000k, I ordered 1212 3500k gen6.. they will be side by side in my tent,will be better if I have two same lights or this will be fine? And yes I do autoF only strains..

it doesnt matter,although i bet the plants in the middle will look better because they will be getting light from both colors so better spectrum.

But the question remains is it worth changing my to 3070 to 1212?? If i sell 3070 i need like invest 15$...I dont have middle plants i have 3,3x3,3 tent 6 girls in 2 rows.. Each row has it own diy led.. So its one light for 3 girls ...

if you think that 90 CRI is what you need. there are several threads with side by sides here. any differences compared to what you have now will be subtle

people keep asking about the 1212 3500K 90CRI - theyre due in ~5/18

but for now we have... 1216 in stock! 3000k and 3500k in 80 and 90cri

On the heat sinks. Is 120mm the measurement across the face of the sink?

thats correct. they are 120mm diameter and 70mm high

When I'm doing this, I'm also effectively connecting this to COB's correct? I have the Negative Voltage of my drivers connecting to each of the 3 COB's in parallel, so I'm just adding an additional positive wire to this correct? Then adding a positive wire to the Negative connection of the drivers/COB's?

Just want to make sure before I get going. It just came in today

1216 or cxb3070 only eficiency not price.
Which is the best ?

i dont have a 3070 to run side by side, id guess 3070 is more like a 1212 so prob 1216 is a lil better

Connect driver negative to the 5v supply positive. Connect driver positive to cob positive. Connect 5v supply negative to cob negative. Starting out with the driver and 5v supply set to minimum wouldn't be a bad idea.

i cant understand what youre saying, but for what you are trying to do the power supplies need to be IN SERIES acting like one power supply. hook the negative of the 5V driver to the positive of the real driver, and positive from the 5V driver to the cob array. negative from the cobs back to the real driver

im gonna go on record that i do not at all endorse stacking power supplies like this. it will probably work but i think you have a fair chance of unpredictable behavior, power supplies arent really meant to be stacked that way. be careful and observe it operating for awhile.
