i told you i counted 252 then mike said the same in his post. so its 252 leds in the 500w

not all colors use the same amount of power so some could be higher then others because some wavelengths travel farther or dont need to be intense, the some leds are at different powers. dont ask witch one i dont know? i just know thats how it works. and i am pretty sure some are around 2.0-2.5 or something i dont remember, its best to ask Mike he knows more about his lights then me. but i do know they are all not drawn the same.

that is crazy urs has 252 also. bro just Imagen how bright they are.lol

how are u plants doing? did you fix ur problem with them?
Well all except for one seemed to have made a big cut back on their rate of decay/yellowing, but one of the little ones really took a turn for the worst and is yellowing all over (i gave a dose of veg nute on counsel it was N deficiency, although I was guessing Iron or something)

Yeah my light definitely has 252 as well, but if it runs on 105w fewer watts (25% drop) that makes me wonder how much more painful those 500s are to look at! haha

the girls look great for the big problem you are having. still nice chunky buds and it could only get better when u get things dialed in and not any issues. hows the frost? these lights seems to frost things up nice for me.

i am sure urs are bright also, it was insane when their facing you on the wall like they were in the pics, when hanging up its not so bad on the eyes because your above it.

what strain is that? sorry u had problems bro, i feel you i lost two crops to troubles.

Hey Irishboy, I am new to growing and I decided to get a Blackstar 180w 2011 6 band model, and I was wondering if this light will do well for flowering as well as veg, or am I going to have to get something else for flowering.

i dont know never used it or seen a completed grow proving it to produce killer yields. sorry man wish i could be more help, best bet will be to try it out and see how it turns out and if it meets ur needs. i am not a big fan of black start because this mislead people with the watts of their units. the 240w only really is a 133w and i feel they should state that on their website for others to see before they buy, but they trick others into thinking their getting a great deal on a 240w light hiding the fact that its only really a 133w on their website. not sure what ur 180w really is? but 240w being a 133w is a big difference, so ur really not running allot of watts to be intense light to produce big solid dense nugs. sorry if you were mislead.

heres a update on the little girls, their showing their 80% sativa and growing fast. Seems these girls want more food then whats in the soil, feed them last night with some silica and dyna-gro. not sure if these girls are making them eat more, but new growth is starting to get a little yellow? most people say not to seed for a few weeks with the roots soil and this is only my 2nd watering.lol

In early on for this one, I have always been a fan of mikes lights, have a spectra 180 myself.

Hw is the spread? Would one of these cover a 4x4?

Also as far as blackstar goes, shady company. Gotham hydro(seems to be their sole distributor) has a lot of lies and misleading information on their listings. One such is that they boast recording an award for best light by some big cannabis magazine, then when you actually reasearh this magazine you find it has nothing in it. Its just a false front. No content, no competations, no nothing. Shady people

lol. thats funny because back in the day i looked all over for that award and never found it. either way i can tell allot about a company just by the way they post claims on their lights. most people ask for my advise then get but hurt once i tell them how it is and my opinion, then about 3-4 months latter they PM me saying i was right and now they want these leds. its really crazy how many people dont want to do their homework, or what to try some none tested company when i spends years testing leds to help everyone out. it just amazes me sometimes. led company's pop up by the day claiming to be the next best thing. at least i can help a few people out of the bunch and that feels good. i am testing out these nutes also to see if i can help some of us save money and not get taken by the big cannabis nutes that cost a arm and a leg. i have high hopes for these Dyna-Gro nutes.

Hey everyone.. I had some thoughts i wanted to share with you guys..

I see that a lot of people are pretty much stuck on wattage versus price. This is ok but not accurate when it comes to deciding on what to by and how much to spend.

I use 12 wavelengths, I have trade marked True Spectrum™ so that I can prove and back up that my panels actually use true 12 wavelengths.

Now with that said, using different colored chips costs more, especially when using 12 different nanometers. That has to be taken into account when figuring costs.

I could easily make a panel that draws 500w and use 2, 3 or 4 wavelengths and sell them for much less but then I would be cheating you guys.

I also want to stress the fact that true 3w chips (45mL chipsets) that i use cost much more than 1w chips. I promise you guys im not trying to be mean are start trouble with other companies but you guys have to know that 99% of the companies out there especially the new ones are not using the true stated wavelengths and 3w chips. What most are using is 1w chips some .5w and saying they are 3w. How would you most of you guys ever know when you order what your really getting? This is exactly why and how they take advantage of people with false marketing and flat out lies. I have talked to many of the suppliers from china and I have been told that most companies dont use more than 4 wavelengths in there lights, they wont tell me which companies though.

I stand by what I say and I want the truth to be known, you can buy whatever you guys feel like but know the truth when your comparing my panels to others out there.

And as a side note not one single led company out there every came to me respectfully and say 'hey Mike you have a pretty nice panel but i think I have developed one that might give you a run for your money' and I would respectfully reply back with a suggestion for a side by side are just wish them good luck on there business venture. Instead I get attached constantly and its getting old. I do not respect anyone who comes at me like that. Thats why I will always defend myself and my company.

Some of you want to know the foot print of my new 2011 lights so here you go:

Spectra LED 100w 2x2

Spectra LED 180w 2.5x2.5

Spectra LED 290w 3x3

Spectra LED 500w 4x4

I know this might sound a little surprising to you guys but the panels even though they are rectangular, they put a circular core foot print, at least this is what i have noticed when shining the light on a flat white surface. So I guess you can take the figures above an apply them as a diameter.
Heres some info the owner of GLH posted on one of my journals and thought maybe some of you would like to see this? hope this could be some help on some of your questions?

Subscribed. Have you ever used or do you know anyone who has used blue mountain organics fertilizer? i recently got a bottle of the 'flower power' in the mail. all their ferts are organic and pretty cheap so i figured id give it a shot on the two of my plants that are in flowering

having some PH problems on the run off with the Roots organic soil, so going to transplant them tonight and see if that helps? should get things rocking.

Are you going to final pots? Or mid size pots, then transplant before flower?
funny you ask, just about to post some pics.lol. i have always just threw my girls into their final homes from the start, but this time i went to beer cups, then to 1 gal pots, then to 5gal lowes buckets. nursery pots are a rip off and arnt a true 5gal, so i went to buckets. a 5gal nursery pot is the same size as a 3gal bucket

heres some pics of the girls in their new home. things went pretty good from what i could tell? the Roots soil already was pretty moist from the bag so i did feed them witch i wanted to, but dont want to drown the girls the 1st night. this should clear up the PH issues i was having in the soil on a few plants. i think since they were in those beer cups some did have allot of lime in them and it let the soil PH dip down too low on a few of them. so hoping this will clear things up and green the girls? the 2 little plants in the beer cups on each side, are going to get tossed, they look tore up and just never had it from the get go, they were bad cuttings.
