you need much more lighting wattage 15watt wont suffice.I am using a very low wattage bulb. 15 watts for a plant in my shed. Irrigation is taken care of and the light is set 12/12. Will a car battery be able to keep this light going for 2 weeks while i'm away?
Did it not occur to you that a car battery is 12 volts, not 120v?you need much more lighting wattage 15watt wont suffice.
LUDA.

I don't know of any low voltage bulbs - except LED (3.2 - 3.4 volts)
i know that and the light must be wired from a home voltage.Even 24v is still not enough power. Plus most car batteries won't last a night if you leave your headlights on. It would never last two weeks.
you are right.A deep cycle battery refers to how well a battery can handle full discharge. So basically you can run it dead, recharge it, run it dead again. A regular car battery will fail quickly if it's run dead a few times. When I've been boating or RVing we have to plug in to an outlet or run a generator to recharge the batteries. I don't think a battery, deep cycle or not, will last as long as the OP will be gone.
