Is it worth growing a few bagseeds/hermie seeds next to bought female seeds. Will they polinate my precious and expensive females? I just have a little of free space because not all seeds from store survived so I am curious if I can grow some hermies/bagseeds next to them?

Second thing is - are female seeds weaker than a regular ones?

If the expensive females are still in veg why not just cut some clones off the bottoms instead? You can easily see male flowers way before they pop pollen if you pay close attention to them so although some people are skeptical, I don't see a problem growing bagseed or hermie seeds out. There are alot of great genetics that have came from bagseed and hermies so IMO it is worth a shot.

Hermies will only pollinate other plants if they're allowed to do so. If you're able to pluck balls as you see them. That will do. If not. You can cull the hermies.

And seconded on the bagseed. Just because you don't know what they are. Doesn't mean they're going to be garbage.
After all. There's been some really nice stuff come from the ol dime bag deals.

I agree, especially if you know where the bagseed came from. Ive actually gotten a few nice crosses that I think actually had the f1 hybrid vigor or whatever. I just got a cross of purple kush and whatever the hell got my buddies room last year and it did phenomenally just over 1.5 from 1000w, potent and smooth but one of the phenos has a much stronger smell.

If you've got the extra space and adequate light I don't see why you shouldnt.

improperly stored seeds are weaker than properly stored seeds.
I wouldnt waste my time with a known herm made seed unless I had no others.
herm plants can be safely corrected at first sign of sexual confusion.
clones of your known females are your best options.
check these out while you wait

Lots of top notch genetics came from hermies.. you never know, it's definitely worth a shot.

There is nothing wrong with growing bought seeds next to bag seeds. Like they said. Just watch them close. Males will grow their "balls" long before they will release pollen.

And now for a lengthy explanation. . . . . Good luck following this.......

In the spring of '16 I was getting low on smoke, and I bought 3/4's of an ounce in April and again in May.. Both pretty good smoke. I popped some seeds from each, calling them Bag Seed Testers #1 & #2.

BST2 X BST1 came to be known as Hurricane Head due to Climatic Events during flower. Then in a fall/winter seed test, I grew out two of the Hurricane Head F1's {so to speak} over the winter. Those two plants, in the normal passage of their lives, came to be known as Bug Topped and The Finger. There was a few frost, and some insect problems late, but they both did good for winter plants. When i chopped, I aw The Finger had pollen sacks on the bottom of the bottom branches. They were planted together, so the Bug Topped was seeded too. Those seeds were The Finger X Bug Topped.

When I was young I heard some of the old timers touting the use of hermie pollen They liked to use hermie pollen on other females, not the seeds off the hermie itself. More females for sure. But also the chance to get more hermies.

I grew some of them out this summer. I had to abandon them, but they did pretty good not to have been tended after July. Three plants of TF X BT. All had a few seeds dusted from another bag seed strain growing a few feet away. {My buddy picked up two kinds on 2-14, and I got a taste of each. This one was a decent Diesel I named Saint Valentine 2} Not a bad thing in itself, but due to me not checking on the patches there were two SV2 males.

The new strain name? How about Who's your Daddy?

Sounds like this was outdoor. Did you inspect the plants regularly? "when i chopped," The sacks form very shortly after the plants start to flower.

This is not realistic. Once they hermie there are always less mature balls that slip inspections.
If I see a hermie, I pull a garbage bag over it right to the soil line, cut the stem and knot it up .That being said, there is no reason to assume that bag seed is intersex. I have grown some awesome weed from seeds out of shitty brick weed.

Don't smear DP because the seed raiders got away with a few shitty phenos.
The real thing is the only cannabis that I have seen that hits people like a full-on psychedelic.
I have seen friends speak in tongues on it (with no recollection) as well as people too scared to step out the door (in case something catches them).

Regardless of the hermie trait I still grow it at the i502 I work for with popular demand. People love it!
