Is this a good deal for a used cob setup?

naw dog you can build something better with current chips for less than that.

and the $5 clip on reflectors are better than his range hood for your purposes

This light is something DIY'ed. Someone spent about $125 on parts and made this light and now want to get their money back and then some.

Yeah if you can get it for 100$ then it'd be worth it for the driver and heatsinks. Cobs look like bridgelux Vero but without a clearer pic it's impossible to tell.

I would buy that for $200 but for sure offer less

I would not buy that for $800

Those heatsinks are massive (and expensive) and the drivers are $60/pc.

The fact that you dont have to do shit but plug it in and you have a solid lamp makes it worth it imo.

Also these are made by a forum member so be nice everyone :-P

Yeah, I use nothing but CLU058 3618 with heat sinks made for me buy Flip Chip. Unfortunately the store owner also needs to make money. I don't have to deal with sales though.

That pays for the chip and driver.

Do you know what temp the chips are and what wattage it can run up to? I don't know a ton about the cobs
Thanks

Sh!t, the light is already gone. I had it resold.
The one for sale was a 3500k/80cri. I have switched to 3000k/90cri after testing spectrums next to a tray covered by 2 Gavitas. 30/90 still looks like a MH next to the Gavitas. His last run ( while he was gone) started to get spidermites. What we did notice was the LEDs had much less impact from them than the DE trays. This is the second time I have seen this.

::removes foot from mouth::

3618s are top-shelf chips and hard to find under $50

makes sense. higher leaf temp = higher spider mite metabolism = shorter life cycle = much more rapid infestation

Led grown cannabis seems to get attacked MUCH LESS by mites than with hps, ive noticed this too. Big time.
