is this possible?

he asked what the problem was. you said the problem was that 12 hours is a minimum. that's how i'm reading it anyways. ;-)
I can't think of a better way to explain it, either. If the photoperiod is 12 hours or less (because we're usually only dealing with 24 hour days, right?) then that would automatically mean that he has exceeded what is commonly accepted at the minimum dark period for inducing the plant to flower. Right? The only reason why I see that as a problem is if he's got a very small plant that "wants" to flower when it's still very small/young, which would equal a very small yield at the very least.

Or have I got it completely backwards?

As for outdoor, I'm going to try to find a chart of light/dark progression so that I might be able to see how fast the shortening days can cause Mary to flower, because my first girl started back in the first week of August (and she looks to be at least 3 weeks to finishing, so I'm thinking she must be a Sativa dominant hybrid, she's a Bagseed Girl). Anyway, I believe that September in the northern latitudes is the month where we see the most drastic change in photoperiod, losing something like 90 minutes of daylight in the span of the month. I have to wonder if that progression has more to do with causing flowering than the actual numbers/hours of light and dark.

Fuck. You noticed. I really need more things to occupy my mind. It's why I can't sleep if I haven't got smoke (ok, that and my damn hips).

Still, though.. eh? Yeah? Whaddaya think about the outdoor photoperiod thing?

i could give 2 cents about the outdoor photoperiod. i know when what flower when, that's all that matters. i've got about 40 or 50 different strains under my belt that i've flowered outdoors. i know when they start and finish. that's all that concerns me. the why is just details. :bigjoint:

Why don't you just bring them in as needed. If the day is too long then put them inside a closet, if the day is too short then give them a couple of hours of light then put them in a closet. That might work, try that.

leg hurts bad after building my canopy. no rain yet.
Bet it's gonna hurt even worse because of the change in the weather, too. I noticed you were gone from the boards for quite a while yesterday. Battening down those hatches like we were, yeah?

I like the hoopy thing.

How's the healing going, then? Activity like that adds stress, but I've never broken a bone, so I don't know if it'll be better or worse for you to do such activities. Haven't you been doing physical therapy, too?

Yea that would work,, but who wants to run home everyday and stuff a bunch of plants in a closet? then take them back out, day in and day out..lol

After hearing everyones thoughts on the matter, it is feasible, and will work, but it probably wont be the greatest bud, colder temps, as FDD said leafy bud not to many trichs etc... i guess if i built a small greenhouse out of clear plastic it might work better, but then anyone (occaisonal neighbor visit etc..) will no doubt peek to see whats inside:-?
what it boils down to is you get out what you put in.

I myself was trying to get around the whole indoor thing, buying lights, building a room etc.. I just wanna grow some bud yearound dammit.

U would be fine just stickin it outsise Dirthawker.. if u had anyway of sheltering them from the rain i would say u could go till early next year or before the light change is enought to re-veg.. the Biggest concern however id say is, like a few others said if it hasnt veg'd long enough ur yeilds will be low.. but ive seen perpetual harvest outside, or well multiple harvest anyway, but the winter harvest are always lower since the light is not as intense, from being overcast and cloudy and stuff.

But it can be done and since u dont have to pay for the lighting id say is most deffinetly worth it.. just give her enough direct sun and keep her dry. im goin to do the same thing actually right now in cental cali, but some people harvest 3-4 time a year and id say if it can be done so-cal would be the easiest place.. but hope this helps in some way and if ud like to try it we can compare results.. peace bro..

Right on blazin!! yea im gonna do it,, lets compare results.

Now i just need to get some good clones.
Nice bro, i was gonna do this earlier just to have a lil bit of extra bud later on this winter.. but was skeptical myself and u knida inspired me to just go for it.. u dont have any veggin huh? ok well maybe for ur sake imm take some fresh cuts.. wat u thinkin bout goin with (strain)? i was thinkin bout usein a train wreck clne but idk how strong they are.. i havent exposed her to any extreme temps yet only grown inside but i might try a few dif strains and we can KIT and see how it goes.. sound good? oh BTW how are the clubs Down south? Thanks tho for joinin me in this, i really wanna experiment with this and use a couple dif styles and see which is suited best for this late season stuff.. i was thinkin bout usin a purp kush as just a single cola (sog) but anyways let me know wats up bro, peace.
