Was Obama lying when he said this or just not up to speed? Did his decision not to recognize Jerusalem as the capital lead to peace? Seems like he got the Peace prize before he chose not to recognize Jerusalem as the capital. Very confusing for someone that went through the public schools at the mercy of the teacher's union, perhaps schools should be privatized?

He got the peace prize before he'd been in office for a year.

Again, read up on the history of the area. It doesn't care what you think.

Why did Obama support Jerusalem being the recognized capital of Israel? Just saying what the audience wanted to hear?

Every President has recognised that Jerusalem is the capital of Israel. Infact for the last 20 or so years Presidents have been signing a 6 month waver on moving the embassy there.

Why?

Because it's a disputed city and they wanted to leave the drawing of borders to the parties involved.

Trump fucked this arrangement.

I think he knew exactly what was likely to happen. On the ground, it really doesn't matter to either party what we do. They are there living it, while we are just talking about it. But this will make folks look away from the Russia thing for a few days.
