Just another DIY COB build

mo money, mo cobs :) these COBs have a lot to live up to. i LOVE my t5's and they growth they give me but what ive seen makes me think these are like t5 on steroids. im really excited to get these new strains vegging and then on the flowering table. the ugly looking clones were monster cropped from my flowering run on the table right now. those will make my forever moms for this strain and i will just pick the best phenotype of the two but thats very hard to choose.... the healthy indica tanks in the picture will be the first run for the COB's so it may not be a fair assessment for the productivity of the COBs. these are first gen from seed so its a roll of the dice at the moment but the pedigrees are things of legend. a little progress before work.... should finish the wiring tonight. all the parts here were sourced at LOWES except the wire cable sleeve which i got on amazon and the heat shrink from harbor freight because its 1/5 of the price there. its all in with the electrical components. the connectors are similar to wago except they dont have the levers, they are simply push in style. Looks good.

Word of caution. Those connectors from Lowe's I tried them on my last build and returned them for the wagos. They were not as secure and a solid tug would always pull some (not all) of the wires out. So just double and triple check them. They are cheap though I had bought a big bag of them.

Looks good. :peace:

thanks for the heads up. i checked them and the first two were fine. i will anchor them in place with zip ties so they cant move. my heat sinks are screwed into place so there should be no movement at all.

No sweat, I just didn't want you having issues like I did at first. They work you just need to check them good and sometimes cut back the outer sheath of the wire a bit more :)

this thing is disgustingly bright. its brighter than if jesus walked into the room. its hard to believe its only pulling ~300w total at the wall. INSANITY. cant wait to blast some plants with it. thanks to cobkits
and everyone who helped me out along the way with my build. :)

just checked with the thermometer and the heat sinks are sitting at 100 degrees(which is amazing!), the canopy is at 72, and the top of the tent is 78 degrees. i have had the ventilation turned off in there for a few minutes. i want to see if i can hold steady around 78 at the canopy. i like a little bit warmer veg. i found one confirmed female, but it looks like the rest are all female as well. the males i pulled all showed sex over a week ago and the females always seem to be late to show. fingers crossed for no more males.

plucked one more male. all the rest are confirmed except for one, but im 90% sure its female.
i also ordered some liquid karma to use as a foliar spray. on the t5 they looked like they were getting too much food. had a little leaft twist and curling fringes but now the new growth looks light. i will give it a few days before i adjust anything. i think the foliar will help as well.
