I'd even argue that were here because certain "progressives" have spent the last 16 months shitting on the Democrats and giving the Republicans a suspicious pass.
So many treads posted by so called progressive downing Dems. I still say Flaming Bullshit was a progressive sockpuppet that enjoyed the attention working against itself...so fucking stupid. Hope the hits were worth it

It's so obvious; they spend months backing the outsider, go berserk when he loses, bash the Democrats for months, say Trump is the best thing for progressives ever, dish out homophobic slurs and claim the solution to racism is not to talk about it...

How dumb are you ? Do you even pay attention to things like numbers ? Yes Citizens United is disgusting and should be gone, but Dems were not for it and did try to fight against it. They failed.
Now let us talk about the after math. When it was all said and done the DEMS still raised more than Repukes even when you includ this Citizen United bullshit. Obama was still able raise $784 million in that campaign, while Mr. Romney only $467 million. Obama exceeded Mr. Romney in the fundraising department, and went on to win re-election.
Moving on to Hillary Vs Trump. Hillary raised $867 million for her presidential campaign; Donald Trump raised $453 million. Super-PACs supporting Mrs. Clinton raised $201 million, while those supporting Mr. Trump raised $59 million. Hillary raised more than Trump .
So, looking at the numbers ( which does not lie ) the Democratic candidate was able to raise very close to twice what the Republican candidate raised. If one adds in the amounts given to the Super-PACs, the Democrats actually raised more than twice the amount raised by the Republicans with Citizens United. One election with Obama we kicked ass. The one with Hillary we lost. Both elections the Dems came out on top with funds even after Citizens United. So basically STFU
The Dems losing the last election was nothing about Citizens United and Yes I'm against that shit..
Now I will go back to just skipping reading your post. You bark the same shit without doing research.
What’s your point? If anything you have just proven tty’s point. BOTH parties are in the pocket of corporate America, as evidenced by the numbers you just posted. Saying that the Dems raised way more money than the Repubs, a good chunk of which was from corporate entities, only proves his point.

It’s easy to oppose something when you’re in the minority and your vote is just symbolic. Look at the Repubs and their opposition to Obamacare. They voted to repeal the ACA dozens of times while in the minority, but now that they have control of all 3 branches they have fallen on their face. Let’s see what the Dems do about CU if/when they regain control of Congress/the White House and their votes actually matter....

CU is not the fucking now problem. Getting rid of that would not have kept fucking Trump out of office nor will that keep him out next time. You obviously missed the fucking point. Are you...STUPID ?
With Citizen United we have won and lost a Federal Election. The last election we lost because of STUPID people voting or not voting.

Lol, so when the Democrats do something, it's a waste of time...

But when Bernie Almighty produces a hollow bill, with no costing and no proposed funding source to meet the non existent costing, its a "turning point"?

Sanders Medicare for all bill had no chance of passing. I haven’t seen anyone argue otherwise. The benefit of it to me was seeing who would go on record supporting it. If one of the cosponsors of that bill gets the dem nomination in 2020, they will have to support a universal healthcare plan, which I’m sure you would agree is a good thing, right?

Do you think Bernie or his wife will see any jail time ?

Kindred ;

As the division between the elite 1% wealthiest and the other 99% continue to grow at its fastest rates, much of Americas citizenry labor away on minimum or close to minimum wages

Half of ALL Americans made LESS THAN $50,000 last year. Yet, five of the 10 largest private employers in the US saw salary increases to its Executives. Largest of them being Wal-Mart. Not just the largest private employer but they also rewarded themselves with the largest raise to its Executives, all while just barely managing to get all minimum wage employee's up to $10 an hr.

One can't help but realize, and feel that it is being left to multi-BILLION dollar corporations to say they can't afford to provide better wages. Let's take a closer look at Wal-Mart for example.

As of 2016:
Wal-mart employee's 1.5M Americans (2.2 M Worldwide)
2016 Revenues : 482.1 BILLION
2016 Operating Cost : 7.2 Billion
2016 Dividends : 1.6 Billion
2016 Net CASH PROFIT ( After taxes) : STILL IN THE BILLIONS....Hundreds of BILLIONS

Yet, the average salary for American Walmart employee's......roughly 18,000

So, how does any corporation
that makes MILLIONS, and even BILLIONS, of dollars in PROFIT, justify keeping it all, and not distributing wealth? Did the 1.5M Americans literally not facilitate your wealth...for you Walton Family?? Or any other Corporate scum.

Imagine if you can, that one day, 1.5 Million American Wal-Mart employee's came marching to the very front door, or Mr. Walton's Mansion. I can only imagine , and only then, would he be inclined to not be a slave owner painted as a "CEO" . They hind behind these titles. Its accountability. They need to be held to the same degree as every other human.

This is legal, "corporate" slavery. Instead of chasing cotton for some rich fuck, we chase worthless dollars. If we Americans started working like we get paid, ....a little bit each week....perhaps things would change, quickly.

They say be the change you wish to see :)
our economy was built on slavery. the modern system is more profitable than slavery because the owners of society do not need to provide for the needs of their slaves. but the rich have always built their fortune on the backs of the poor. some try to buy redemption when they are old and facing death by giving a portion of their wealth to charity but they can never make up for the harm they cause. Rousseau once said that the obligation of government was to insure that workers kept a fair share of the wealth they produced. today that is attacked as socialism
. in our society good has become evil and evil has become good. history has shown us that such a society can not survive. the law of Moses and old English common law recognized that the only way to protect our god given right to work and earn a living and to enjoy the fruits of our labor was to give control of the means of production to the people but that will not happen without replacing our government.the best we can hope for is that our government will transfer enough wealth from the rich to the people to prevent revolution and that threat does not exist in modern American society. the rest of the world must be laughing at us for being so stupid as to allow this move toward fascism to continue

If Bernie helped her obtain the loan he should pay a heavy fine. If she is guilty she should do more time than Martha Stewart.
Do you think she should have accepted money after she bankrupted the college ?
If either one of them did anything illegal they should pay the price. It seems odd to me though that they would knowingly do anything illegal when they really didn’t stand to personally benefit from it. This loan was for the school was it not?

And yes, I’m aware that his wife had a $200,000 “golden parachute”, but to my knowledge that had nothing to do with financing in question. She would have cashed in on that either way.

But yeah, if there was willful negligence by either one of them then they need to face the consequences...

Salaries are so low that employees are trained through HR in how to apply for food stamps and Medicaid.

This amounts to a directly wage subsidy for Wal-Mart.
now they are trying to cut food stamps and medicaid to pay for a massive tax cut for the rich. we are becoming a third world country. even Russia has universal health care and free public education.and one of the best public transportation systems in the world. they tried western style capitalism but are returning to communism after seeing a decline in the standard of living for most of their people.I have been to Moscow and still keep in touch with a few people their. we have the most expensive health care system in the world but rate 17th in outcome and people here are dying every day from curable conditions because they can not afford health care. my girlfriends dentist told her that last year she had 2 patients die who could have been cured with a prescription for antibiotics if they had gotten treatment in time. they did not have insurance to cover dental work so they did not seek medical help until the infection had reach the brain and it was too late to save them.my girlfriend had the same infection but one month on antibiotics cured it. if there is a hell than it holds a special place for the rich and powerful in this country.what kind of man would sacrifice human life to make himself a little richer when he already has more money than he could spend in a lifetime?I am not a rich man but if I see someone struggling and I have the means to help them I will. even when it means giving up something that I want but don't really need.I would love to try one of those $1000 led grow lights but that money is better spent helping people who are struggling just to survive.those that don't believe in the devil and his demons have never met the wall street crowd:):):)

Jesus H, you’re calling me stupid? The point is that BOTH parties are in on it! It does not matter which party wins a given election if they are both eating at the trough of corporate America. If elected leaders from BOTH parties are accepting legal bribes from big business then that is a problem.

What you are clearly missing is that by accepting these ridiculous sums of money, BOTH parties are in the pocket of corporate America, and are therefor working on their behalf once in office. They are supposed to be working on behalf of the American people...doing what’s best for their constituents, not what’s best for Chase bank and Exxon Mobil! Please, give your head a good shake, go have a cold shower, smoke a joint, and then come back and see if you can wrap your head around this....

i'm having trouble accepting your "both sides are evil corporate puppets" argument given the massively different ways in which they govern.
