Any idea what it takes to get one of those permits passed by the feds, how many have been granted, or how many are available? I'm guessing they prefer established farmers with tons of investment capital for a big initial fee. They'll inspect and monitor the shit out of your hemp to make sure it's not budding up much. They'll want to see hemp stalks, not bud so much.
They approved 130 something permits out of about 300 applications in KY.

The pics of the hemp in that article look like any other cannabis sativa. There are two types. Hemp that makes good rope and hemp thats good for seeds. The seed type is nothing but bud.
