Ladybugs......

Just a few random questions regarding the ladybug. I have read a few articles saying they are a "noob mistake" in one paragraph and praise them as a damn near solve all pest problems type bug. So I guess I'd like to ask if anyone has experience raising/keeping ladybugs long term, and if so how did you go about doing that. Are the babies better/bigger aphid killers? Lastly if I have ladybugs in my room during flowering, what are the chances of finding bugs (adult, or other stages) in my buds? I appreciate any help and I know these are prob noob questions, but everyones gotta learn somehow.
Thanks all.

don't bother with ladybugs unless you have aphids, otherwise they just get in your lights.
and NO, they aren't a solve-all.. by ANY stretch of the imagination...
but they kickass on aphids
the immature ladybugs are the best eaters, they even eat mites (just not predictably)
so, at the risk of being annoying, I answer your question, with a question.
What bugs are you trying to control?

My problem is with aphids.... they suck.
inside??
if so, then yea, you have the PERFECT remedy, in the ladybugs.
they'll annihilate the aphids.
the problem is there is a LOT of misinformation regarding the ladybugs diet, meaning some mistakenly use them for other bugs, which is just not useful.
you won't need many ladybugs too, the aphids reproduce slow, and the ladybugs eat a LOT in a day. 50 or so aphids a day

Ha Ha Ha. Really, to get to the point, unless you have a lot of plants, like a forest, they will fly and go wherever they please, and it probably wont affect your aphid situation. Get some spray, like SM 90 and spray your plants, and that should take care of them. Yellow sticky traps work also. Fuck lady bugs, who has the time for that shit. Peace out

I totally would agree with you for any other bugs, but as stupid and retarded as ladybugs are?
they do kickass for aphids..
if it's just aphids you can also easily just kill them all by hand, they are slow...
but i'd go with ladybugs over anything else.
probably the ONLY time i'll ever say that

How many plants are we discussing? For 1 or 3, I don't see the need, but if u got 6 or 10 in a close grow environment, then I believe they will work. That is what I think at least.

Yes it's an indoor grow for 7 plants. I've noticed they are slow (aphids) and take em out when I see em, but I'd like the ladybugs for added security/piece of mind. What's the likelihood of finding bugs in buds? Thanks again for the help guys I appreciate it.

i got a pack of 1500 a few weeks ago. i used most outside and maybe 10 in my veg box and 10 in my flower box. gave them a plate of water to drink periodically. theyre cool. still hanging around eating soil born pests as they hatch. theyll survive a pepper spray if you are spraying for mites too

Luckily no mites. Just aphids, and the ladybugs i ended up getting seem to have dwindled there numbers.

The ladybugs seem to be doing the job. I think you are right, im pretty sure the aphids got carried into my room as well, tricky little bastards. Also a plus side to ladybugs, i like watching em run around on the plants.
