I think this has to be is it. maybe the growbag has a draining issue The stalk looks darker, woody and everything at or above the discoloration is hosed. It couldn't have happened to someone that deserved it less. Life ain't fair unfortunately.It could also bee some type of boring beetle in the branch killing it off.
