Why am I not subscribed to this shit yet? After the wine wears off I'm going to give everything a little bit of an overview and see if I have any input. But as of right now, it seems that you forgot the law of KISS: Keep It Simple Stupid
Lol, welcome Jozi. I thought I was keeping it simple, until I deduced the lights were my problem, then all sorts of shit started flying.

Meaning what?
I'm going to hold off on Co2 for awhile, drop the temps, reduce feeding to the barebonez. They are looking betterwith the 400MH in there but I would like to know what these lights can do.

I think I'm going to switch out the MH for the HPS and see if it speeds things up. Finally starting to produce some flowers.

hey shwag are you not liking those LEDs?
Hey Endur0xX. It seems that they work well for some people, however I have encountered problems with them regarding the plants' health. Things are improving now, but I've eliminated 2 of the 4 lights and replaced them with a 400w MH for the time being.

One of the lights is hanging directly over a Top 44 that I placed in the tent about 10 days ago. Its very happy and healthy, watching it closely to see how she responds. After talking with another person using these lights I'm wondering if I didn't start my feeding a bit early and aggressively for the lighting. Seems their demands for food are not much with these lights as the production is less compared to HID.

I will watch closely. I have experienced some problem with my first go at it, but it was entirely my fault. (10 days to go for those 2 plants) This upcoming run is already doing much better. I have a theory about growing in soil with LEDs... since the soil is drying slower, I assume it`s hard to figure out how much nutrients to give, especially if you have not given nutrients for 10 days (my soil is taking so much time to dry each watering) so I think that supersoil is the way to go... I can let my soil dry really good and I don`t have to worry they are not getting their nutes. I also have a 100W diamond along with 2 400Whps over 3 plants and the buds that get the most LED light are the frostiest... I think that LED+HPS together give really good results.

Anyone, actually having success with the Spectra from 2011, without adding HPS ( I added 150 HPS), running two leds (2011 -180 V2 and 290 , both with PS that have been modified, but I WOULD NEVER buy an LED from there, they seem to not produce and seems like colors are off, possibly even burning plants. Saw Mike selling on ebay, thought for 1-10$ they MIGHT be worth it. Really sorry to see, people spending hard earned cash for these, they just dont seem to work well. ALL my Spectras are as high as they can be at top of tent and still seem to suck. I will probably resell on ebay as GLH Lites and hope for best...just saying

also, I have had similar probs with new growth being semi healthy but yellow and believed it to be lack of nutes or cold weather ( 60-65F ), once I put real lite in the tent , I could see how yellow they were.

I would tend to agree with you, they don't seem to wick as much water which is why I thought for a moment that I may be overfeeding a bit. I'm giving straight PH water the rest of the grow unless they start begging me for some nutes. Maybe a dose of tea every other week but that's all they're getting now. I'm very impressed with the Top 44 at 10 days in the tent currently, hoping it stays this healthy for the haul.

Good luck hippy...... I'm running one about 10" away from the Top 44, its perfectly healthy, no nutes, just super soil and its pushing flowers at 10 days. So far this is the best success I've had. I don't plan on reducing the wattage for awhile, going to stick with the V1/HID combo.

I have a really nice small clone that is very healthy under a FERO led, it was put under 12/12 before rooting. I just transplanted in a bigger pot today, 6-10 inches away from the light and so far it looks really healthy (it was farther to the light up until 4 days ago..) So it will be interesting to see how this plant reacts to the FERO because I cannot blame the light for the small yield of the 2 previous plants. The TD is actually recovering really good, I was about to scratch it a week ago and the buds started growing again. The SLH has the nicer buds but it completely stopped growing 2 weeks ago... I will cut those 2 plants within 10 days anyway. If you are interested in more LEDs results, I also just started a journal in the LED section with another cabinet and a few plants under a 90W HSS v2 and a blackstar 240...

I'm just coming across your thread now Schwagbag. I ran a 100% led grow last year to try them out and see whats up. This is my LED grow. https://www.rollitup.org/grow-journals/345308-600watt-led-hydro-gro-op.html#post4384849What I deduced from the grow, in summary, is this:- LED's will not 'pack a punch' and won't necessarily give you the weight that a HPS will. - LED are great for supplemental lighting along with a HPS because they DO add to thc production and help make nice sticky bud.- Flowering under just LED will cause your bud to be much leafier...it also won't start flowering as fast or as strong as it would under HID's- If you do use LED's make sure to place them literally 6-10 inches away from the tops, it doesn't heat up much at all and the light will be considerably more intense, allowing for maximum weight gain for your buds. That's all I can think of, but check out that link to my LED grow and see what you think. I think there are two harvests in that journal...the grow I have now is primarily HPS, but I do have 2 300 watt LED lights for complimentary lighting.:leaf:King:leaf:

Glad to hear, when did you get the lite ( we know the 2010 was ok), also my veg was ok, just yellowing which we believe was from cold temps and not enough nutes. problems are slow growth, and leaf burn. I am 7 days into flower after 34 days vegging. 290 and 180 both from GLH this year (sept-nov) in tent and the lites are as high as I can get them and still seeking less than good results vs. HPS. But still trying and hoping...

Welcome to the new followers, I will try to get an update of the plants tonight or tomorrow night. I just chopped a beast of an AK47 from my 600 tent, wow is she lovely. She's one of the finest specimens I've grown to date, I will share that as well when I upload the pics.

Thanks for sharing your experiences!
