LED light choices?

My thoughts on LED are Buy a little more than you can afford and be prepared for "some" heat issues. A respectable light will have sizeable heat sinks and numerous fans...definitely less expensive to run though.

Will the $1500 light outperfom my $180 light?
Probably.

Do I care?
No, because my $180 LED is an upgrade from my $180 250 watt hps plus 160 watts of cfl with less heat.

Are people who ask rhetorical questions and then immediately answer them douchebags?
Definitely.
Cool story.

whatever they are their 3 watt bulbs and that is the same seller I bought from
If you're having success, and put your faith in them. I will too. Thank you, I'll order their 4 piece set as soon as I get cash, and hope it pans out. I'll start with 3 plants in the tent and see how they do With 2 panels unless I can run all 4 with no heat issues.

All the new lamps are using 5W LEDs for better penetration. Have you been over to the LED section? What I would suggest you do is make note on which lights are getting all the way to the end. You will notice a lot of the same brands of lights where people will begin yet not finish. In the end it's your cash and your grow so go nuts!

yeah 5w bulbs are definatl better, but also a lot more expensive. 960w of anything should be enough to grow weed tallstraw lol

Anyone used 357magnum grow lights. Found a 1000w equivalent for 450. Their website says 11band and all that shit.

Holy shit! That's gotta be way too much light for a 4X2 area. I have a BlackStar Chrome 270 and my last DinaFem White Widow Auto turned out 60 grams dried and cured in the same size area you have.

Okay, so ive narrowed it down to a choixe between these 2 lights. Which do you think I should choose, those of you who are familiar with lights? On the craigslist ad, I'd choose the 570w, since it makes no sense not to. On the magnum I think it's already around a 600w. I'll let you guys choose the wattage and the fixture, I cant pull the trigfer on either. But after much deliberation I've narrowed it down to those 2. I'll be happy with either, but just cant decide which fixture and wattage. So I'm letting RUI do it. Thanks guys!

Heres the info on the other one

Brand New in Box LED Horticultural lighting in Several Sizes.

These are custom designed (25 year Master Gardener) fixtures with a proprietary LED array for maximum growth. They have a 3 year warranty from the manufacturer as well. Please email for full details on the specific model you are interested in
Full Phase / Flowering Lights
240 Watt - $189
400 Watt W/5 Watt Diodes - $299
570 Watt - $359

Vegetative Light
240 Watt - $189
Proprietary blend of targeted wavelengths for specific growth stages:Many lights on the market skimp on 660 red, 430 blue and IR/UV chips because they drive up the costs of the units. We believe that the additional costs are more than worth the improvements in performance. Our lights have 3-5 times as many of these spectrums as most other fixtures available. While other lights give only illusory support we make the whole plant work as nature intended. Full chlorophyll B and auxiliary pigment activation increases growth rates and power efficiency.*
Full Spectrum specific diodes for all plant functioning and regulation
430nm (90 degree lens) - Focused Chlorophyll A Support
460nm (90 degree lens) - Focused Chlorophyll B Support
630nm (60/90 degree lens) - Focused/Intense Penetration Chlorophyll B Support
660nm (60/90 degree lens) - Focused/Intense Penetration Chlorophyll A Support
3000K* (120 degree lens) - Wide dispersion auxiliary pigment support
6500K*(120 degree lens) - Wide dispersion auxiliary pigment support
9000K* (120 degree lens) - Wide dispersion auxiliary pigment support
730nm IR (120 degree lens) - Helps regulate internode length and other metabolic functions, increases "Flavour" intensity and aromatics
400-410nm UV (120 degree lens) - Growth regulator/sterilant

Energy savings:You save 3 ways switching to LED's:
Lower Power Draw
Lower heat can reduce any AC you may use
Lower Heat = Less Ventilation
Technical Specs:3 Watt Epistar (Korea) single diode chips *Lifespan - 50,000 Hours
Input Voltage - 85-265 Volts
ACCE&ROHS certified
Durable aluminum casings
Single LED Failures do not put out entire rows
Multiple power supplies = partial only failure events
High quality heavyweight aluminum Heat Sinks
Super quiet durable fans
Oversized large gauge wiring
Well secured routing
Grounded US style plugs
Hard brass mounts
Hanging kits Included

*All LED's on the consumer market are under-driven @ slightly over 2 watts. Driving them at their full rating produces little extra light, generates mostly heat and greatly decreases the life of the diode

Warranty:3 Year Manufacturer Warranty from Date of Purchase.Simply hang onto your purchase emails and provide a copy when you contact us. We will facilitate the return and provide contact information.

iv been using led for a few small grows and i have used hps for a few as well. if i were you i would mix led and hps. if all the conditions are good my pro grow 180 producing very high quality bud but it just doesn't produce weight like a hps. but if you mix the two i insure you that you will have some beautiful high yields. make it so one shines down and to the left and the other shines down and to the right. it will bring your heat and electrical issues down and you will have the best quality buds.
