Left light on for last 24 hours, 3 weeks into flowering

^^^ Dude! Do you not realize how many of us this thread has helped?! This dude should be a legend!

Now, to take the torch, I lowered my California lightworks 3 or 4 days ago to snug them in on week 3 of flower and, just now, realized that the cat5 cable came out that controls the lights and they may or may not have been on for the entire time.

I'll definitely keep this thread alive to post my results lol. I immediately unplugged them, even though it would have technically been the "lights on" time, I feel like giving them 24 hours of dark will help speed up the damage reversal.

Every freakin grow starts off with me saying "Dude! This is the best grow so far!" and every freakin grow has some sort of problem whether pests, mildew, mold, or lighting.

Please tell us, how many?

Make that 449 :D I just accidentally left my lights on for 60 hours on week 7 of flowering (I know.) Have we decided if 24h of dark helps? TIA
Just run the light until your next normal dark period, then turn the lights off for 12 hours, then continue on with the normal 12/12!

@piratebug I just left them on 24 hours after accidently switching timer to on not auto. Day 14 of flower, should I kill it for 12 hours and adjust my schedule to 12 hours later than normal? Or Kill for 24 hours and keep the same as before?

Mine turned out just fine! Not a single thing happened. I did give them 24 hours of dark just to be certain they knew it was time to flower. Honestly one of my best harvests ever.

well i did a treatment in my groom on the 3rd and plugged one of the 2x 600w back into a socket instead of the timer by accident, ive only just noticed, im in week 5ish of flower, so thats like a full week of 24hr :shock:

Lmao. Now...one week definitely takes the torch . I'm only laughing because I'm glad I'm not alone. It's funny too, because all of these "accidents" have been after trying to help the plants one way or another!

Love that this post stays alive but it needs some resolution.
All genetics and situations are different. Depending on where you are in flower, how bad you fucked up, and what the genetics are, anything could happen.
Sometimes you will just get a few herms. This is not the end of the world. Watch for them and remove them immediately. You may get a couple seeds but the harvest will usually be fine.
In more serious situations the plant will return to veg. You can see new stem and leaf grow at this point. If your plant starts growing new leaves and stems in flower(except during stretch), you have a serious problem and you need to start over.
Most of the time, if you only had 1 night or a few hours where the light was left on, you WILL still make it to harvest.
Never try to compensate for the lost dark time. The last thing you want to do after a stressful situation is add more stress. Get your lights back on schedule and wait.

24 hours of darkness aint gonna do anything for ya man, just keep on going with your regular light schedule until harvest..
Well I discovered it at exactly 24 hrs of light. I guess I could have let it go to 36 hrs and then back to dark but I didn't want to stress them more. If I went straight to dark I would have had to switch to light during the day which gets too hot in my garage. Best course of action for me was to turn off until back to my regular schedule.

I see, than that is the best thing to do, I thought you were giving them 24 hours of darkness on purpose as a means to correct the 24 hours of uninterrupted light light, carry on.

YOU SHOULDNT HAVE ANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS. IVE DONE THE SAME THING. I SWITCHED MY FIXTURES AND BULBS OUT THE OTHER DAY (GOT SOME DIFFERENT LIGHTS) ANDDID THIS. MY TIMERS HAVE A FIXTURE "ON" SWITCH ON TOP TO ALLOW YOU TO TURN THE LIGHTS ON MANUALLY, BYPASSING THE TIMER. WHEN I GOT MY NEW FIXTURES PUT UP,I SET MY TIMERS,ECT AND SOMEHOW ACCIDENTALLY FLIPPED THE BYPASS SWITCH. I WATCH MY TEPS CLOSELY WITH A REMOTE THERMOMETER, AND USUALLY IN THE DARK PERIOD, IT SAYS AROUND 70 DEGREES, WITH MID-HIGH 80S BEING THE NORM WITH THE LIGHTS ON. I NOTICED HIGHER TEMP AND FIXED THE PROBLEM DIRECTLY, BUT THEY GOT ABOUT 2 1/2 HOURS MORE LIGHT THEN THEY SHOULD HAVE. THEY WILL BE ok THOUGH, JUST GO BACK ON 12/12

FYI...plants dont get "confused" as they DONT HAVE BRAINS. photosynthesis is a chemical reaction, not a conscience physical reaction on the part of a plant. also, plants wont turn into hermaphrodites in stress situations unless the plant they originally came from had hermaphrodite tenancies. tenancies to turn hermaphrodite are genetic defects in the plant, and can be brought on by stress, but leaving your lights on for an extra 2 hours or 4 hours isnt going to generally do it unless it was on the verge anyway

just speaking from my OWN experiences.
Yeah I agree with this it all depends on what genetics your working with

I’m savaging some plants right now in an attempt to learn for myself. I’m hoping for some hermies because if I don’t get any I will have learned nothing apart from that I am still learning and that will be a bummer
