Life without electricity. Would you survive?

What exactly does an EMP kill? I was under the impression it's just circuitry. Stuff like motors, generators, etc will still work.. assuming they aren't computer controlled.

Will an EMP kill a points type distributor? I didn't think it would. I have my mid 90s, all mechanical, diesel truck, doesn't need any electrics to run. I bought it, partially, for this scenario. 4wd, solid axles, manual transmission, runs on just about any fuel oil.. I'll point it into the woods and wait. I'm trying to find a recoil starter, uses a ratchet to crank a big ass clock spring to start the truck, then I'll be 100% mechanical. With a little work I think I have room to mount a starter on both sides on the motor, one electric, one crank.
That's awesome.

I've got a fair few seeds to choose from if ever I do need to get a home based food source going. And we've got a 1k Litre rain water tank. Usually full to the brim, as it rains here quite often. Oh and our soil is a good mix of volcanic and limestone.
Yeah I have tons and tons of actual tomato seeds and other veggies too in the freezer.

Wouldn't call myself a "prepper" but having certain items on hand is just common sense imo.

We get a lot of power outages in winter and having simple items ready goes a long way.

I would for awhile, water is the problem( rather, lack thereof) in my area. All well water (modern style wells) with immersion pumps. No electricity, no filling the 5000gal storage tank. Not worried about food; plenty of deer, cattle and horses to poach. So it all depends on how long the power is out. Going Mad Max does seem to be a bit intriguing though

Yeah I'd survive. Depending on what was going on I'd either head to Singlemalt's and sneak past the perimeter and/or 420god's if I thought I could reasonably make it (more beef). I have a car that won't die from the EMP.

I'd wait for a bit until all the insane were off the road. I have a 25,000 gallon clean reservoir in the back yard and dried food. I have enough guns and ammo stockpiled to make that feasible.

I'll bring solar if you won't explode me in perimeter 1

Just think. Thered be so many confused bitchez. Wouldn't understand why they cant take fukkin selfies.

So many people would be fucked. They'd have to think for themselves. Because no dr google to ask.
And that's why I think I'd survive.

There are so many fucking idiots that would literally sit down, cry, shit themselves and wait to die.

Maybe we need a thinning of the herd.

I have faith you would engineer some sort of desalinization plant for ocean water.

You got this!

Most "city folks" underestimate the importance of potable H2O.
They think they can just run river water through a coffee filter & be good to go. :dunce:

You may survive giardia, but there will be times you'll wish you were dead.
