light ???

heres a ?? for anyone with the knowledge. I have a 5ft wide by 2ft deep closet. Will a 4ft 2 bulb t5 and 2 ten inch reflector dishes with 2, 35watt cfls in each be enough light. the t5 rated at 10,000lumens and the cfls at 4,800 per set up which is 2, 35 watt cfls be enough light. the t5 across the top and a 2 bulb cfl set up on each end work. of course that is using the proper light spectrum. or should i go with the 250 watt MH/HPS with digital ballist. I know the MH/HPS light set is better but is it safe in my closet. that set up for the floros is about 250watts. will it work or not is the real ???. my cloest is already all white. but its kinda cold in the winter inthere about 63-65 degrees. i just dont want to burn down my home with my kitty here. thank you for any help.

t5s and cfls will work longs you dont wanna grow huge plants you can always add more cfls if your plant struggles for light under your canopy if you think you need it

theyre your plants you do what you think is best for you and your given situation if you feel safer with t5sand cfl then do that

ive never been around or seen a MH or HPS bulb i know they get up to about 400 degrees is that safe in a 2 foot deep closet that puts the bulb a mere 10 inshes from two walls and the reflector onit will be about 1 inch from the walls

If you didn't purchase any lights yet, I would recommend going with an HPS/MH light. You will use the same wattage, but your quality and amount of light will be much better. If you are using what you already have, I'd recommend a SOG or SCROG setup to maximize you light usage.

I personally use a 250 watt HPS and it does get warm, but if you have proper air circulation in and out of your grow space, you shouldn't have an issue. The more wattage you use from any light, the more heat you will have. You won't burn your house down as long as your electrical wiring is sound. Keep water down low, and electrical up high in your grow space.

you could use a cooltube takesaway alot of the heat from the bulb out of the extraction like i said you go with what you think is safest for you last thingyawant is for ya house to burn down for a bit of weed

hps all the way, they aint as hot as you think

So don't use the closet? Shop around at rummage sales/yard sales for an old wardrobe closet, or build your own custom grow cab. That's what I ended up doing, and I had the luxury of building the grow space the way I wanted it. SOG is a sea of green, where basically you grow several small single cola plants. Search it out, there's a lot of info about it on this website.

so for a couple of plants what would be a good size grow box with the 250 watt MH/HPS setup. and i will most def research this SOG theory i like that idea. but i need to make sure i can grow first i only have the 2 good seeds the rest are garbage more for trial then anything. or a headache.

My grow cab is 21 inches deep, 54 inches wide, and 74 inches tall. I am currently growing scrog, so I don't really need the 74 inches of height, but its there for when I want to flower an old mom or two. I made the cab 54 wide so that I can run my filter/light/exhaust as straight as possible. Too many bends severely limit airflow.

With my scrog, I can fit 3 large plants in there, all with a 20 inch x 14 inch screen. Its a bit much for my 250, but i just rotate them every couple of days. I also have a couple 2700k cfls for extra lighting. I'm only 2 1/2 weeks into flowering with this scrog grow, so I'm really curious to see how much they produce.

id use your trial seeds first and then get yourself some good uns once you get the hang of it

my cab is 36inx36inx72in i only grow 2 plants at a time under a 600w hps with a cool tube

so i could narrow it down a little 2ft by 3ft would be ok i like the height though i want a couple 3 or 4 footers. so when should i top and trans plant these. and is it true if you start flowering at 12 inches the plant will either double or triple its height during stretch while its flowering.

im about to buy a MH/HPS set up but do i need a fan for the 6inch tube thing.

I would go with MH/HPS. Your yields will be much higher and better. Yes you need to vent the closet.
There is no way around it. All the discussion here is about heat and that is important but even more
important to your girls will be FRESH air. You want to cycle the entire volume (space) of it's air at about
once a minute. This alone will remove 75% of your heat. It will also increase size, potancy, growth rate
and keep insects at bay.

If it were me I would check craigslist for a $20 closet door. Buy a second door and mod it as you need.
You will be surprised how universal door sizes are. You'll be able to take the door with you. A cool tube
would do well but you would still need an intake for fresh air for the girls.

The flouros will veg pretty well but flowering will be less than desireable (imo)
