I beg to differ. Name-Ripoff Platinum's reputation should have been a factor in your gulping down their self-produced performance numbers.

"Doing it for fun" has a tinge of "stirring the pot," getting a rise out of people. That's fine as long as people considering a purchase understand how to interpret your contributions.

With white cobs the final spectrum is an average of spectrums used. If the cobs are too far apart then the mixing won't be even. I did it myself with 23 emitters, a little higher K in veg mode and lower in bloom. After playing around for a few years I've found that anything between 3000 and 4000 produces excellent vegetative growth so I just stick with 3500.

Some body needs to do a Platinum P600 vs Cree CXA3070 grow comparison like this. 1/2 of each plant under the p600 and the other under the cob light. Wish someone would do this...DSC_0093.JPG

An objective PAR grid would say tell most of the story. If someone has a Name-Ripoff Platinum, I'm sure they could mail it to one of the members who have a PAR meter.

The fact that Name Ripoff Platinum doesn't disclose any details about the diodes he uses, data sheets, etc., it seems like a waste of time trying to prove that the light's more decent than the absence of information would indicate.

white- that is max power and at 320+ watts I am going to need to fan cool this to run at full power (320 driver). I will try is on high first, but when summer comes around it can run at 160 watts to 250 watts. Maybe a temperature controlled light output. Anythings possible.

I think the fact that the company ripped off the name of a reputable company in order to gain a market advantage is all the "results" most people need to know. If it was a decent light, the company wouldn't have incurred that low-brow reputation in the process of gaining marketshare.

Beyond that, a PAR grid would indicate what results should be expected from the light. I think that would be a good start. Having two lights shining on the same plant won't tell you a lot, will it?

I use Cree lightbulbs with a Blackstar UFO (epi-whatever). They make the Blackstar look really good.

Even separate tents wouldn't be as concrete as a PAR grid, since genetics could play a role.

1. Autoflowers are short. Epi-whatever LEDs work better for short plants.

2. It's convenient (again) for you to point to awesome grows without any information about the power used to achieve that awesomeness.

I don't feel like I'm "hating" by pointing out that you guys were talkng about running between 56 and 72w/sq ft.

If someone wants to do that, that's fine. Where's the hate in that?

It seems like you want to keep that information out of it. And, anyone who mentions it is a "hater." Isn't that a hate of reality?

I am coming to the conclusion that there are two types of MarsHydro users.

1. Those who don't care and they use their lights, and they're happy.

2. Those like @daillman who are information averse, not merely agnostic. They evoke a Shakesperian "methinks thou doth protest too much."​

I believe he is a closet COB user. He can't admit it yet, but he yearns to use those w/sq ft numbers too. His aversion to them is actually a closeted love for them.
