I just dont know if I have it figured out yet. The moisture content is good I think, I am guessing its about 10-15%, but it just seems like everythig loses its green color< and turns brown...not like old dirtweed brown, but just not nice and green like when its harvested, or sometimes I buy a sack just for a diffrent thing, and its so green..
I like to trim it down pretty good after I harvest, not a complete manicure but close, it just seems easier this way. I dry it in a empty closet thats probably bo 70-75% on a warm day...liv in hawaii. Its dark as night in there. I hang from string with adequete spacing...I do not run a fan in there, but it is not a humid room. I dry for about 2-4 days, however long it takes for the outside of the bud to be suffeciently dry, I never wait for the stems to snap, I tried that a few times and it was just a crispy critter after, so I think I got a pretty good idea of when to jar the bud.before I jar the herb I give them I final trim, to where they look really nice. I have some nice large glass jars, that I dont pack tightly but fill bout 3/4 full. I leave them in there for 12hours, then burp them by removing the lid for 4hours. and so on so forth until i think its where it needs to be. the curing pocess seems to be working. except for the color. Now not every batch has turned a brown color, but more than not. its just not right. I dont know what I am doing wrong. I make sure to keep them in the dark...i have read a million posts, articles.... any suggestions?
Thanks guys...gals....an tips or secrets would be great.
