LST. Did one tie down. Am I hurting her?

So I started a bit of lst and tied down the top. I gradually brought it down over a couple of days but just want to get opinions of whether I'm hurting her or not. It seems like more leaves are trying to replace her as a second main cola but I just could use some solid advice from anybody who uses this technique. Thanks!

You're doing fine. You can actually get fairly violent with them before they get angry. Sometimes at the flip, I continue LST + supercropping to fight stretchy varieties.

Your little tie downs aren't hurting her, just make sure you're not like torture table stretching her to the point of damage. If stems aren't tearing or creasing or busting you're just fine (even when they do bust, as long as it isn't crazy trauma it'll be ok; see supercropping). Make sure where you tie around is not tourniquet effect. It can grow around the strings (and will) but you want to grow around the tie points, not so much the tie points cutting into flesh day one. Just some thoughts. Lookin' good!!

Oh man. Thanks for the quick reply. I really wanted to get my bang for buck with her so I heard this was the best thing to do with autos. this is my first Grow and I've heard to be extra careful with autos so I was a bit nervous. How many times is feasible to do this do you think?

*regarding autos, maybe this is all out the window.. with that, I would expect you could tie them down up to the point that flower sites begin to appear, your canopy will be established.

Sorry I didn't realize it was an autoflowering strain, someone should be able to help though.

It's cool I'm just glad for any info at this point. For anyone who may be wanting to give some other advice on this I'm growing Short Stuff #1 auto. It's Northern Lights/ Willys wonder/ ruderalis hybrid. Thanks in advance.

Well I found out you couldn't tip them for sure. Stunts the growth. But this type of bending and ties and such is supposed to be ok. I just wanna know how much is ok? How much is too much? This is an all cfl short stuff #1 autoflower grow. I took the ties off today after I saw that the new growth was poking out. I may do a bit more in a couple days if I'm feeling brave. But for now I'm leaving it alone.

Did u top it?

I did not. This is the result I got from about 3 days of LST with one tie. I got nervous and let it go today. But you can see it bushing out from the side of the main stem that I bent.

About how old is it I'm just a tad behind u with my auto end of the first week in soil

Mine is at like day 19 from first sprout out of the seed in soil. I see you started in a solo cup. Be really careful transplanting. I'd been advised to start the seed in the pot its gonna stay in since the autos don't have time to recover from the shock that can happen from transplanting. But I started doing the LST about day 15 and day by day brought the branch down. Looks good. What are you growing? What lights?

I am using happy frog soil 7g smart pots ,150w hps and 4 40w cfl(150w replacement) I plan to feed with organic tea. And let it roll like that. I have one northen lights x big bud from expert seeds and one white widow freebie fron seedsman. What about you.

Soaked one fem auto short stuff #1 seed in cup of water. Then put it in natures way organic potting mix and added 30% perlite into a 3 gal pot. The pot with the mix I had soaked the day before. Put plastic wrap over my pot and germed right in her final pot. Put 8 x 13 actual watts and 2 x 26 actual watt CFLs hanging over the pot. Mine is just for me and super poor man. I'm going cfl all the way through and just adjusting the placement daily. I've used very diluted organic espoma grow for veg nutes first time yesterday. And will use some organic espoma bloom when she starts to flower. I'm going super light on the nutes. Just something for a little boost. I'm afraid to do anything that could stunt her growth since she's on the clock. You know.

Cool so you're doing NL. I've never tried it but heard it's good smoke. My short stuff is actually a hybrid of NL and willies wonder. So I'm excited try her finished product. Guess I shouldn't get ahead of myself through. Lol

Hey what size bulbs do you have I'm using 40w cfl 2700

2x 26 watt 2700k and 8 x 13 watt mix of 5000k and 2700k. I'll probably lean more to the 2700k in flowering but I was told to keep a good mix of the spectrum for this strain.
