Hey Anonymous, DO NOT TOP AN AUTO, there clock is ticking from germ, topping just sets em back, thats why transplanting is also a no no, possible root damage, to try & recover from, ...........Auto's are very fickle & easily hurt, there not like Photo's , which will recover, due to there time frame, ie# you can veg for as long as you wish, no such luxury with a Auto.............good luck

So quick update. About 22 days in and here's where she's at. Re tied her and got some more new growth of the side of the main branch. Hopefully it works out. She has definitely filled out over the last few days.

So I started a bit of lst and tied down the top. I gradually brought it down over a couple of days but just want to get opinions of whether I'm hurting her or not. It seems like more leaves are trying to replace her as a second main cola but I just could use some solid advice from anybody who uses this technique. Thanks!
Yo dude, Im growing a trainwreck auto using lst method. Bout 9 weeks old now.
U ain't hurting your girl by the looks of things, just don't top,FIM or snap any limbs on her and shel be fine. They don't have much time in veg so the less stress the better.

Thank so so much for the solid advice man. I went ahead and started a couple more tie downs and it seems to be going well. Here's a couple pics.

So... I haven't topped or FIMed her but i was adjusting her ties and my yarn slipped and I snapped of a tiny new growth. I was so pissed at myself. Anyways. I got nervous again and took off all the ties. Smh. Hopefully I didn't stress her much. I'm really thinking about leaving her be till it's time to cut her down. Maybe I'll try some better technique on my next one. But anyways here's a pic of the little piece I broke and a pick of my canopy so far. Let me know what you think.

Yo dude, don't stress.. she will be fine.. might stunt the growth a little but It'l push through.. try get everything else perfect like ph levels and air temp etc. just watch how she grows and tie more arms down when she starts to increase in size again. I snapped a branch on my girl and taken a beating with a little nute burn but still producing big sticky nugs. All comes down to the seed, hopefully yours has good genes.. here's an update on my girl
Peace.

Hey so a quick update on my girl. She's now on day 31 and is in her 5th day of flowering. I'm super excited about the progress. And the process has been very interesting and rewarding. I'm attatching a couple shots of her canopy as it is and the others an up close of one of her bud sites.

Hey thanks for sharing. Holy crap. That thing looks sexy! Your post helped me get some courage to do the ties again. Hopefully it pays off. Also I'm seeing like 8 main bud sights. Is that ok for my first go around?

There are five now, the main coala and then four others all producing like the main. The life is so short and I'm using a 300 watt led which is great it I didn't want to over train and under produce. I've got five mains now and 5 or 6 others that will add a little to the yield I've got 20 days left and have decided to take the string down so it doesn't interfere with the product. But she responded great, stretched really fast. Next grow I'm scroging 5 autos ready to see that out come

That's great man. I hope it ends well. I hope to get a decent yield outa this girl. It'd be nice to see an ounce but I know that may be wishful thinking.

So I'm in soil with 230 watts of CFL (2700k and 5000k) always within 5 inches of the canopy. I'm on 20/4. And she is 32 days in.

Get the cfls closer. Within an inch and a half to two inches. They don't get hot enough to burn the plant if they aren't touching them. You biggest worry with a cfl is penetration. So yes you should be activly lst'ing the side branches out so the get light because the cfl won't penetrate down far enough. And switch to 24/0 if it's not a money issue. I've done both 20/4 and 24/ and hands down 24/0 always yields more. The plants are genetically altered "auto"maticly do what nature does for them in the dark. They are short lived plants so give them all the light, as often as you can. And a hint (coming from someone who tried to go the cfl only rout a few times on my small grows) by the time you buy a tone of cfl bulbs to get your watts up and the sockets and splitters and all that it's well worth going with a 300 watt led. Youd pay less in the long run man, power, product and extras (sockets), and have a lot cleaner set up with a full spectrum light that will actually penetrate your plant. Just some advice bud. On my smaller grow I'm using the 300 watt led with I'm also using several cfl very close for a little light on the outsides. Drop the 70 bucks when u can and put all those productive cfls to work in hard to reach places!

Here's how I keep my cfls constantly with no troubles or burn at
If your going to keep using cfls get this book, only cfls and soil are used the entire grow mr seemorebuds had a green thumb that's for sureIMG_0415.JPG allIMG_0413.JPGIMG_0414.JPG

Man. Ok. Thanks for going in depth with the measuring tape photos. I will definitely keep the lights closer from now on. At this point I'm still at the very beginning of my flowering stage. Do you think I can still get a decent harvest?

Lol it was laying close and It's hard to see that's 2 inches without actually seeing it's two inches lol. But yeah no prob you don't have to measure them man just get them close as you can without touching.and yeah I do. You've still got 50 % life left if it was me I lst a couple longer outside branches, put those lights as close as possible, and let it be a plant
