Hopefully I can get the next round of soil mixed up this week and start on forming the cages and trellis support system.
I'm sorry for the late update, it's been a lot of work on the old man this year, I'm not in my 20s anymore...
We just went through the wind storm in Ontario this week. No power for 4 days. Multiple trees snapped including a rather large spruce that came down and landed about 4 feet from the propane tanks for the house.

Your plants are looking really healthy. I've got 4 in the ground but only started them the end of April. They are hardened off and growing outside for the last week.

As for the old man, not in his twenties anymore you'll have to go older than that to get recognized as old on this site :-).

Did you get the Dirty Dancing outside? I hope she finishes up like shes started, shes still doing great, same tropical sweet smell, it may be getting stronger scented actually, I can smell her as soon as I walk outside..

I didn't get a DD started. So many seeds ... They are in <drum roll> THE VAULT. The fridge was out of power for most of the week though.

I got a request for Frostberry and Pineapple Poundcake (PP) gifts from people worthy. The PP isn't growing like the last time I grew, this time there is some serious skunk in the pineapple. With the power outage I've been moving the plants out to the sun and have been forced to an inside/outside grow for 4 plants. As soon as I pick up the smallest PP to move the plant it's skunk up the nose. Stinky.

The Frostberry are growing larger than the Okanagan Grape outside and looking IndaCouch for sure. Gotta love strains with big promises !!! During the recent storm I was sitting in the solarium watching the action. The leaves on the outside plants were bending and flapping like crazy but I didn't find a single leaf broken at the end of the storm. These little buggers can take a lot of punishment.

I hope the DD promise works out. You have done a lot of work with a REALLY nice looking start.

It sounds like we may not be too far from each other, I know we are in the same province :) I hear that Frostberry is idea finishing for our climate. Dirty Dancing however in our outside climate is going to be one hell of a challenge this year..

It's been back breaking work for a man in his 40s but this was long overdue.. Once I get all this setup this year I will just reuse the same beds over and over again.. I had to redo my whole outside this year due to poor nutrients and a bad run last year, it lit a fire under me to redo everything.. So far it was the right decision. Up next is the support system, this I am dreading a little bit but I'll have it done soon.

We aren't far from each other distance wise based on Brockville comments. I'm Ottawa area.

You can tell from the leaves DD is sativa. If you get a crop early it's still a crop. If you keep trying to beat the weather you lose. The trick for DD will be to protect in the fall and not try to squeeze the last ounce out of the grow.

Frostberry should be good for length of season. The Okanagan Grape are growing a little smaller and I suspect I have one male at least (maybe 2). I hope at least one is female though.

I use to live in Ottawa for several years.. We are for sure in the same climate area, you are going to have to let me know how those Frostberries and Okanagan Grapes turn out, I am looking for strains that finish earlier but without losing weight, potency, flavours ect..

Here is some strong advice with the GDP.. If you plan on doing LST with this strain, you may want to be prepared to trim the inside of her.. She is INSANE to give a haircut.. This is an absolute NIGHTMARE..

I guess Dominos doesn't like me smoking my bong at their doorstep, I have to step back a few feet.. Wal Mart doesn't care, I've hit my bong right at their door but Dominos has standards LOL..

Here is a quick update..

I put the first cage around the big Dirty Dancing, with all this wind I did not want to take any chances of something happening.. She is going to fill out this first cage in no time and I'll have a bigger one ready for her by the time she is ready..

GDP is starting to look fantastic, "like queen's of the hill", they really took a liking to the haircut and the fresh transplant..

The Island Sweet Skunk is still looking good, I will put her trellis up soon..

The Roadkill OG are starting to take off some, I think they like that extra sea compost I put in there..

The things I have left to do are put up all the support systems, mulch the whole area with alfalfa hay and then add the watering system..

I will get another update when I get more sorted..

The skunks look like smaller plants from the pics. They do give off interesting smells I'd bet.

Thanks for the update. Plants look like they are in super shape.

Yeah the Island Sweet Skunk and the Roadkill OG were started weeks after the others hopefully they catch up, It's either the Island Sweet Skunk or the Roadkill OG pheno 1 that has my field starting to smell like Im raising a skunk, I have them in the same area and thats where that smell is coming from, I guess we will see as they grow. I have to put up more cages and I will be starting other garden beds this week "busy week"..

Luckily I am in farmland with hundreds of acres and not trying to grow these in downtown Ottawa..
I don't have hundreds of acres but growing isn't an issue where I live either. I don't grow for maximum output. I'm still at the keep them healthy stage mostly. I have seed for 4 different skunk varieties from lucky13 and then I grow Pineapple and it's skunk. Looks like some pollen jumped the fence :-). I didn't test for gender yet so I hope she's a she. Just about time to flip and find out.

Most of the bud I grow ends up being gifted. One lady has cancer treatment side affects, another person sleep problems and anxiety, another has 5 kids and finds weed helps destress.

Yeah same, I grow for the love of growing and once I have enough for myself for the year, the rest I gift away.. I give away bags all the time in Wal Mart parking lot, I'll look around and find those who look down on their luck and spread them some cheer with a bag of nugs.

There's roadkill, sweet island, space skunk, and 1985 skunk.

Deepkill is interesting and so is deep6. If you read the blog on Deep Chunk it was used in the RoadKill Skunk. You already have some of the genetics.
