Maxing out a driver, whats gonna work best for my DIY CXB3590 bar setup?

I am a NOOB , trying to get a parts list together for a DIY CREE 3500K OR 4000K CXB3590 build. Looking at an active cooled bar configuration, I'm starting off with 1 bar and will be adding more bars to it as time goes on.

My question is what is the better all around setup for driver to cob?, efficiency, yield, photons......Etc?

4 CXB3590's powered by an HLG-185H-C1400B , Or

5 CXB3590's powered by HLG-240H-C1400B .

In a video I recently watched by Growmau5 he touched on the 5 Cob 240 setup but didn't really elaborate. Those master growers and people in the know here please help this first time old timer out would ya. Thanks!

May consider driving these at 75w idk?? If so what driver for 4 and 5 cobs ?

I like 4 on 36" bars with 240-1750b cooled by 2 140mm fans powered by MW apv12-12

so that depends what the driver cost, because the only dif is the cost, both are driving each cob at 50w

maybe u mean run 4 on the HLG-240-C1750?

will that push them to 75w each?

smth more like 62- I've built a light with that set up, I think PLCs 250w bars are that combo

the cxb3590 will reach 75w at about 2100mA btw so if ur set on 75w look for the HLG-240-C2100

id suggest you take a look at some of the newer chips hitting the market in a few weeks specifically the vero 29 gen 7

i have my eyes set on those for a build next month and plan to drive those at around 115W each

EDIT: just checked the data sheet for ya pal, the C2100 won't run 4 the voltage is too high for it(i think) oh yeah because 4 of those is 300w duh

try the hlg 320
it is a constant voltage so you will wire in parallel, the bonus is that if u decide u want a lower current just add more cobs

I'm liking the 3590's for now the price is going down on them.

I'd really like to run 5 or 6 CXB3590 cobs to fill a 5'-6' Long grow space at that 60w range, but being a noob I dont know what driver to use to power them efficiently at that wattage

you don't have to wire in parallel I'm running (4) CXB3590's wired in series on a MW 320-2100B and no issues. 140mm pin heat sinks and Khatod lenses. I am running the 36V 3590's though. Pic below is in a 3x3

Been doing some more research and my best bet all around will be 4 cxb3590's driven by a HLG-240-C1750B and for my 6' long space a 3' - 3.5' - or 4' bar heat sink?? haven't quite figured out the bar length I need to cover 5 to 6 foot long grow space.
Thanks @weed-whacker

I use the former, HLG-185H-C1400B and love it at 200w. Your space configuration determines the real efficiency of the light. 50W/Sf is best for strong growth. If you have 2x2 200w is more than enough. peace
