I know what ahood is, I know what a ballast is, and I know what a bulb is. Come on people, stop trying to make yourself look smart by making others look stupid. Thats not even the question I had. I know that a ballast is not a bulb. lol. Some of you need to find something better to do than try and start crap with someone on the internet. For those that understood the question, thanks for the help. For those that didnt, get you a girl, get off the computer, and get some. then you might not be as nerdy as you seem.

I was afraid of that. It seems like a good idea until you get into buying the seperate ballast. They know how to word things right to try and trick you. I almost baught the thing. Its still not a bad price, its just not what I thought. Thanks for the info there man.
You can slam grizz because he didn't 100% understand your stoner sentences yet you admit you misunderstood the obvious? He knew something was up, yet you dissed.
as cowboy says "EPIC FAIL"

The only one "tricked" was you.

If you look at the bulb closely you will see they have 2 bulbs inside the casing. So yes, it is like having a HPS and a MH running above your plants at the same time.
Yeah, thats what I tried to explain until grizz misunderstood the question. Now im the bad guy.

Is there a disadvantage to this? I.E. 400w dual spectrum vs 400watt MH veg swtiched to HPS for flower?

I guess my question is... why aren't more people using dual spectrum bulbs?

So has anyone used the dual spectrum bulbs like this: http://www.discount-hydro.com/productdisp.php?pid=736&navid=45

Do they run MH and HPS simultaneously?
Check out my post above. Ceramic Metal Halides. The first true full spectrum bulb. Must use a Magnetic HPS ballast. And only go up too 400 watts. The bulb you are looking at is ok. But the lumen to watt ratio is pretty crappy. Not really sure how their PAR rating is. But I think 2 of the 400 CMH would do much better than the 1000 combo. Plus use less power.
