I reeaaaaally want to get this going on here! There are a lot of people that like hydroponics and the simplicity of some systems, how small of a system can you build?

If anyone is interested just post pics below.. I'll come up with something for this and post it within a few days

that's great; really cool. so the challenge is to build a system smaller than that one. a challenge indeed.

the problem is the roots get tangled and compete with eachother.... i think youd be better off topping one plant in each of those and vegging an extra couple days. thats what my veg cab looks like... you can also clone in those super easy.

That's what I was thinking. Using them for cloning. I have a system like those above but it holds one plant.. I'll get some more pics up soon, I'm gonna build a really small one. Try to get more people following this thread and building some stuff guys

I reckon mine has to be pretty damn small!
The res is an old baby wipes tub, holds 600ml (0.158 Gallon) of nutes, that's level with the bottom of the netcup. 4" airstone.
Netcup is an old seedling tube customized, ~1.5" in diameter and ~3" tall, holds 1 rockwool cube.
Do i win smallest clone to root too?:-P

Yeah man, that's a crazy good mini system! Surprised at the amount of roots and growth in that 3rd pic there!

Your little plants buds really took off since I last saw 'em Baskarz! Your system is deff smaller than mine >.< how fast does that plant drink up the water?

Rrain, thanks man I'm surprised its doing so well too! I was expecting slime n rot issues due to some crazy high Res temps for the first 4 weeks (between 26-34 c! ) but none whatsoever, just nice healthy tub of roots :D

Ihaoq, I top up every 2-3 days with anywhere between 200 -300ml of ph'd water, then Res clean and change Wednesday nights. I'm thinking its only got a few weeks to go, next Res change will be water only, starting 2 week flush :)

Yeah does seem like a long time to flush, I'll see how it is tomorrow night, may go another week of nutes and flush for a week.
I believe that's why ppl do it from what I've read, flushes out any possible nute taste in the final product. Being my first hydro, I'm gunna flush at least a week so there shouldn't be any chance of nute taste, just bud flavor :D

When you stop feeding it nutes the plant uses up every last drip of the nutes all around the plant and anything else in there you don't need to be smoking. Just improves the end bud product. You can also get flush solutions which I have never tried, but my gut instinct if I was for whatever reason using one of them would be to flush with water afterwards, I'm not sure if you might actually have to do that but the flush solutions clean out every bit in the plant that water would most likely miss.

Another thing about flushing is you want a very very stable plant.. like, your buds are nearly as dense as they will be. I would say 'cause it'd be nearly impossible to overwater a plant in it's final stages of flowering
