I want to talk about pheno's, and where my next couple of grows are going.

I would love to have the room to grow more plants and push this process, but that isn't the case.
So I have 3 distinct phenos, and I have clones of all of them except for the center plant, but I have the other C pheno plant. Now to do a good smoke test the bud needs to be cured for awhile. That means I'll grow at least one of each pheno next run, and I'll pull clones of them again. Also during this veg period I'll pop the other 5 Bay 11 seeds, which will be the following grow. The clones will be chopped and tied down to make it through at least 2 veg periods (20 + wks). By the middle of the 1st clone run I'll have a yield & smoke report, and then I'll know which pheno I prefer.

So I'm hoping for males in the seed run, and I'll let them go long enough to identify the pheno, I'll save pollen from all the males. In the end I may have to run this strain 4 times in a row to be able to get seeds that are "MORE LIKELY" to pop in the pheno I like. Then again if it turns out that the smoke isn't special enough this experiment will end earlier.

Say whats up Watts?

I'm sorry, I don't know anything about pheno types and such. I'm not that studious.

I just try to find a strain I like and clone it forever.

As for the pain of getting older...I once heard someone say "arthritis ain't for pussies".

Auto time. Day 50 PE 1 is shot, PE 2 has one foot in the grave, the Green Poison has started digging it's grave.

PE 1 is already in the dumpster. I've been misting the other 2 as often as I can hoping to get a little moisture in them through the leaves, while the medium drys out. I've considered pulling the GP out of the bucket and put it in a smaller bucket of perlite. Or do you think this might even be worse than slowly burning to death??

Well I'm not giving up on the PE just yet. 2 days ago I planted the last 3 seeds I had. I'm going to grow one out in a perlite hempy solo cup and the other 2 will be 2gal soil-ponic buckets again, but with out the CRF's. I started those seeds in soil solo cups, and I'll transplant in a couple wks and put em outside.

Without CRF's, what nutrient regimen you planning on Watts? Just curious my friend....you have been my CRF Guru.

Damn that is bad luck Watts. PE 2 looks like she might be saveable. They definitely look better than my outdoor auto. Going on like 60 days and it just started to bud last week. Lot of problems during veg and then a freak hailstorm really did a number on her. The indoor is looking great, they all seem real sativa dominant.

I've got a free sample of Veg Bloom, should be enough for a few plants. But I'll have to break out the EC meter again.

No doubt about it autos are different growin' than photo's, and hail can't help.
The Bay 11 is very sativa, its listed at 80/20 hybrid. With the different phenos, I'm really interested in the difference in taste and buzz. I've always been a sativa lover, I'd rather get high than stoned.

PE 2 is gone now, and the GP was looking much worse yesterday evening, and I just couldn't watch it burn down also, so I preformed an emergency transplant yesterday.

I pulled out all the little CRF prills, and cleaned out as much coco chunk as I could leaving a small soil & coir core. Filled in the rest of the bucket with perlite. I know I put a hurt on the roots. It only has around 3wks to go. But now I was able to flush her out real good. I let her drain to the rez overnight then drained that off and filled with ph'ed water with a little cal/mag, superthrive, and floralicious + I'll have to wait & see if it can recover from the root trauma.

Indoor 2gal buckets are needing water every other day now. I mix up 4gal for the 5 buckets and get about a pint run-off. Earlier this week on day 30 I started the P/K boost. I added 1/2 tsp /gal Cha-Ching. It was a little hot, and I've now got some tip burn. I'll back it off a little next dosage. I've learned using CRF's to only use the boost every other watering. I'm planning on a total of 3 maybe 4 dose's. It's amazing how the buds fill in. I had serious doubts about these spears filling in, but if they keep this up for next 5wks I think they will fill in real nice. Who knows may even end up some jella spears.

Here's a few shots from 4:30am this Morning... Day 34

All 3 of the new PE auto seeds popped. And yesterday all the clones had bottom nodes removed and were topped. Going to top one more time to get 4 spears each. They also got spayed this morning.

Had a clear night last night and it cooled off some finally. Here's the Humidity / Temp from the last day. Yes that a 20 degree swing. And the heat has been harsh. I may take out another 1/2 of light and go to 10.5/13.5

Hey WS, awesome bud porn, thanks for the pics. Question, why no fimming or topping?

PS - I have the same exact temp/humidity gauge!! Amazon?

EDIT - btw, get that humidity up!! You want to be in the 60% range! Even a pan with water would help! But than again, looking at the results who the heck am I to judge!!

2nd EDIT - LOL after looking closer at the pics it is clear you topped!! Now I feel like a dumbass!!!

They were all topped once and have 2 main spears each. On most I left one branch from the node below. I think this would be a good candidate for a 2L SOG 12/12 from clone, if just a couple of side branches were removed you'd get a nice tall single spear.

The humidity is a little higher than normal in my room, it's usually 14 to 20%. I keep a 1/2" of fresh water in my catch tray under the pallet and it helps some.

How long did you wait after topping to set them to flowering?

Is that strictly during flowering? I thought you wanted a higher humidity for MJ (60% or so), but that could just be for veg, not flower. Other than that fantastic job!!!!!!

You go Brotha Watts! You will have some long spears this grow. I too am on my first strain ever that needs watering every other day.....my usual is every 3 days in flower. As a matter of fact I was down to every 2.5 days on the Sharkbreath grow during week 2 of flower. I did some defoliating (per your past suggestions) and interestingly enough it went back to every 3.
Stay cool...this heat won't last long for you...I have to deal with it till middle of Oct.

I personally want to have at least 3 nodes on the new mains before I flip. I'll let them veg for 2wks after topping.

With 5 wks to go in flower I'll be able to top my clones a second time before I transplant them and flip.

Humidity is great in veg. But during flower it is best to keep it under 40%. Hi humidity during flower can lead to some ugly things like bud rot, mildew, & mold. Especially when growing dense indica bud.
