Roots were brown.... did as you say... I was thinking the same thing... I actually already have 22 clones... I just took my best four and put them in a small tent to start new mother's... I'm gonna put her in flower once she starts recovering... happy holidays to you to bro...

Mother: Menard's fabric shopping bag. Just switch to 20 gal panda film grow bag...

Medium: started with soil from Menard's. After reading I topped with promix. Just repotted in promix.

Nutrients: started with epsoma bio tone...
Current: Earth Juice micro catalyst grow
Additives: flouralicious plus
Buffalo loam

Actually I haven't been pH or ppm but I do own both pens. Pure laziness

Here's a GREAT article for keeping healthy, long lasting mother plant.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=31919

Check it out, read it all. Let me know what ya think! If I was you I'd say screw that 20 gallon pot, read the article, then trim roots and repot in a 5 gallon. Then take a clone, grow that out in a one gallon and keep THAT as your mother.

After reading that post, you'll understand what I mean. You can keep a small mother, and get like 8-16 nice cuttings a week for clones. It'll save you on space, and nutes without compromising quality
