Hi RIU,
Its a week after my big 50, and all I got was to find a Lump in my chest.:wall:

I go to the Doctor tomorrow for the beginning of the tests, starting with an X-RAY and Mamogram.

Both my parents had Breast cancer, Mom survived in 1978 and is 80 and happy and healthy.

My Dad was diagnosed with breast cancer in Spring 2007 at 72 years old and he was so healthy he glowed.
he had a mastectomy, healed and went on a nice vacation.
when he returned he started treatment after one time his lungs stopped Working and he needed oxygen.
Very quickly he was on a respirator and then he was gone.
He passed passed away in a 4 weeks.

So to keep my mind busy I have kept my mind on my gardening, without it and RIU I would be Nutz!

I have so much nervous energy I went on a shopping spree with my favorite Gun smithing catalog today.

I am building myself a competition AR15. With a little assistance from a Local gunsmith for my Final torquing.

I have a new complete Lower which will be upgraded and I am building a complete Upper from Scratch.

If you are a gun nut like me the maybe you can appreciate a rifle build to keep your mind busy.

the upper I am building on is a DPMS low-pro flat top Upper receiver it is extra thick aluminum and is smooth sided, no forward assist or ejection port cover on board.

my barrel is also DPMS, It's a Mini Sass 18" S.S., fluted heavy barrel, black with 1/2-28 threads.
its A very accurate barrel/receiver combo.

I have all the other goodies to go along with this.
I am free floating the barrel and covering it with an Anderson MFG mid length hand guard with 4 mounting rails for lights, lasers etc.
A .936 low profile gas block
mid length gas tube.
A Magpul AFG1 in FDE
Smith Ent. "good Iron" break
I have one on another AR and its great for controlling recoil and keeping the barrel on Target.

( I have to wait till next month for a charging handle and BCG, I want to buy a complete National Match BCG)

By the time Im done I will have a one Thousand dollars in parts and it still won't have BUIS or Optics.
I plan on putting my Eotech 552 as the Optic but I am not sure which pop up Iron sights I will use.

I hope to have all my parts by the end of this week, hopefully I will be at the bench this weekend to build with
my local gunsmith.
The Lower upgrades:
I bought a Jard 3lb trigger kit
Magpul pistol grip
buffer tube assembly.
ACS-L stock in FDE

----------------------------
AFG1- Angled Force Grip
FDE- Flat Dark Earth
BCG- Bolt carrier Group
----------------------------

Well that's my other hobby I love shooting/building firearms.

Again Thank You RIU Peeps for being helpful with all!

Thank You All!

I really enjoy shooting, its a hobby that's Become to costly because ammo is inflated in $$$.

I think the smooth sided AR is best, FA is not needed neither is the ejection port door.

I was going to go full on with a side charging handle (non-reciprocating) but It's another $300 for that feature.

Really and truly I have spent more time with all of you than anyone else in months.
( I found the lump 2 weeks ago)

I truly believe " chance favors the prepared mind ".

SOP-
I hope for the best but I prepare for the worst.

Well,
I had my Mammogram and x-ray, the lump does not show.
The lump is below my pectoral muscle on top of my rib.
So since they didn't see the lump in the first two tests they ordered an MRI of my chest.
Still nothing about the lump so I will be getting an ultra sound of the lump on Wednesday....

Now for the Fucked up,
the MRI showed three distinct nodes in my right lung....:shock::spew:
I will be seeing a pulmonologist right after my next test.
just to give life a twist my girlfriend fell rollerblading and broke her wrist last night:wall::wall::wall:

Thanks for being my RIU family!
I would be crazed without you all.

Here is a pic of the upper and parts.
With all of my Dr.s app. I will have to wait till December to complete the build.

low Pro upper receiver, mini Sass Heavy barrel.
It is known for holding super tight groups in a good build.
Barrel is;
Fluted
S.S.
1-8 twist for heavier ammo
18" long
threaded for Break
Picture shows upper, barrel, break and hand guard just thrown together.
Furniture will be FDE as you can see in the pic.

That's going to be a nice Iron. You're way ahead of me in the AR 101 class. I just picked up a Colt M4 a while back and I love it. It's the first AR I've ever owned. I've always wanted one, but always found a way to put off buying one. This last run-in with the government, concerning gun control, spooked me enough to finally pull the trigger, figuratively speaking. I'm still early in the learning process of building an AR, but man, what an amazing platform. The versatility is genius. It can be had in calibers ranging from 22 LR all the way to .50 Beowulf. Virtually every piece of the rifle is customizable to your liking. I get it when they say "It's a Barbie doll for men"

Take good care of yourself, eat well, get plenty of sleep and exercise. Keep focused on the AR and I am sorry about your girlfriend. When it rains it really seems to pour! I am sorry you are going through this. Good luck and I agree chance does favor the prepared mind.
