This post shows hat you do not understand why role efficiency plays in converting electricity to heat/usable light. Whats the rated current for the leds on the cloak compared to the driving current? It needs to be around 50% of max power to be in the efficient category. The light I also stated would put out 984PPFD in a 80SQ/F room for 3000W. Hard to beat those numbers. And all while putting out less of heat as ONE 1000W DE HPS....

Oh, I completely understand.
What you don't seam to understand is that there's heat but it's not that bad. And all lights produce heat.
More efficient lifts produce less, yeah, we all get it.

Fuckin A man. Damn mod had me on slow down mode over some BS politics section beef.

@Hybridway

Where's your HPS thread? I am curious to see what equipment you were using...............
Don't have an HPS thread.
It's all the same.
I liked Phantom & Solis-tech ballasts but had others too.
Pretty much stayed w/ Hortrilux & Digilux bulbs.
It's all packed up now.
Pro-4's will be here Fri. Flower starts Sat.

Ok gotcha. I'm running the Hortilux Platinum E Ballast and the Hortilux bulbs and very happy.

Yeah, HPS is the standard in grow lighting & for a damn good reason too! Vented, they're not even that bad. To run a full room though, it requires electrical upgrading. My room ran on its own dedicated 100amp service. Freaking nuts right! That's what houses run on.
Now, I'm not even hitting 25 amps w/ everything & don't need my brand new mini-split. But seeing how I have it, I'll probably hook it up come summer anyways n run it on low.
HPS grows fat ass buds. Allot These guys around here claim their led is an HPS killer, never having used HPS before. It cracks me up. There's just some things you can't measure in par #'s. Especially the UV & IR that many believe doesn't even contribute to their grow based on what they read.
I loved my HPS.
Economically though, led will get you more gpw. But w/o the right spectrum, they don't seem to grow ass big a buds.
Bought to find out if my Amare's will this run w/ some plants having their own dedicated 400w fixture. We'll see.
If not, that's alright. Cuz the quality is through the roof, gpw is higher & g/sq' might even be too. We'll see.
Up until now, I've been growing these plants w/ not enough light/wattage to each plant for it to maximize its potential. Well, close, cuz they've only been medium sized plants. But they still required more then 150-200w each. This run will be 9 plants under 7 Pro-4's. Should be 7/7 but I had to many & couldny flower them all as it is.
HPS rocks though. I'm glad you're trying both. You'll be one of the few around here that knows the truth about HPS. It's no joke. Efficient or not.

Well I took my portable ac put it inside the tent hung the second 1K in place of the diy light and it's venting into the room (the lights not the ac) temps are down ten degrees lol. So we will see i can tell you there is a lot more light in there now in the COB side it's like the sun is on in there.

Now the house AC doesn't have to be so cold all the time either.

Omg. The plants have gotten to big. That's it. Lights out for the next 2 days.
I can't believe it. My he Cloak plants have easily triple in size. Completely rooted into the 5 gall pot from 6" only like a week n 1/2 ago. If that.
The Amare plants are so big, branches are snapping.
Lights out for these bitches till the Pro/4's get here.
It's insane.

Good move. I think they will suit your space better.
Allot of it has to do w/ getting the right dimensions to your light.
What ever happened to your Maxi?
You still running both?
I tried out the Pro-9 too. Plants love it but it's just not the right fixture in my space. Went w/ 2 Pro-4's in its place.
Thing about the Pro-9 is it's designed to be a drop in replacement for a DE in a commercial environment w/o making any changes. Just take down the DE & replace it w/ the Pro-9.
It was designed specifically w/ logistics to big grows in mind.
Using my Par-meter, I found 42"-48"" to be the happy height.
X3 Pro-3's will work perfect for you. Did you go w/ high-output or the regular model?
I love the way 2 pro-4's cover my blocks of space. Versatile. I went 25" on center.
Keep us updated bud.
Yeah, slo-mos a bitch. They did that to me once w/o warning n I thought there was something wrong w/ my internet service or the site. Ha! Silliness.

I'm running the Pro9 with just the COBs on for now. Day 38 and they look really good. I did notice the plant directly under the light has the leaves curling down and tips yellowing, but the bud sites are fine!

I went with the Pro3s because of the 3070 vs the 3590. Vic said I could run them a little closer because of this.

3 SunCloak Horizons @ 56k for veg came earlier this week too.
Now I'm officially an led grower!
Yippppeeee!!!! Bout time!
Been running testing all year against my hps to determine if I should go led. Allot of work put in to get to this day!
It's so exciting!
Major special thanks goes out to Victor from Amare Tech & Doug from SunCloak for providing the best service I've ever received & quality innovative lights that are both ahead of their time.
