heres a pic of my plant, the lights ant my powersupply for fans, and electrical testing

hi.. i have a bit of an issue with my plant..... i think i kind of stressed it... it "froze" (stopped developing itself.....).... it didn't grow at all today... could it be stress ??????? iv been misting it once a day..... about 5 sprays of like idk...thats like a/4 of a cup ????

well i did have a big problem !!!!! i think i fixed it for now... ill check it tomorrow, but anyways, the problem was, that i didnt notice the plies ended up growin in the dirt.... so i moved the dirt a bit and a shit load of flyes came out so what i did, is check my bag of soil to see if it was contaminated.... and i got lucky... it wasn't... so i filled the sink with lukewarm water.... neither hot nor cold, and put my plant/dirt in it... i gently removed all the dirt being careful not to damage any roots, and while the dirt was breaking apart i went to create a new batch of fresh soil....(with perlite and an other thing...forgot wtf its called) and i put some halfway through the pot. took my plant, with just the roots(no more dirt) and put it in the pot.... filled the rest of the pot carefully and flushed the soil with water.... so far i didnt notice anything goin on with the plant... its been about 30 minutes..... ill post an update later....

ps the reason im explaining every detail, is so that if iit works, and my baby survives, it will serve as a lesson to other newbies.....

ok so in the begining of the post i said i would try to hack a cfl balast to work an a T8/T12, and i did it.... it seems to work fine.... though it took me two attempts... one to the cfl ballast broke when i took it out, so........ i tried again, being more careful... ill go to the store on monday(should reiceve my check by the mail).... and ill modify a couple so i don't have to pay for a 20 dollar ballast..... so since 6 23 watt cfls cost around 15 dollars,and 1 20watt T8 costs 3 to 4 dollars its like paying for 6 T8/T12 ballast which ends up costing 120 dollars...

$120+(6*$4)=around $160 (with taxes)
$15 +(6*$4)=aroud $35(with taxes) thats quite a bit of savings....

and the plus side is that you can use the CFL through its lifetime, and then take the ballast and place it on you t8!!!!!!

ok... the scariest shit happened..... i played around with the wires of the ballats, and BOOOOM !!!! the cfl ballast exploded !!!!!!! fuck ! i got scared as shit......

27 dollars for 4ft metal t8 ballast with built on reflector along with 2x 32 watt 3500k Cool White tubes Home Depot... the ballast was on sale for 20 but its normally only 30-35. Just need to buy some S hooks for 2 bucks with some diamond nylon rope for 6 and your good to go for a pully system . Seems a lot less of a hassle than making your own...

the only lil problem is i dont have space for a 4ft fluro.......even if i were to put it in diagonal....plus i love playin with electricity...util it'll kill me :S

but growin weed reminds me of my dad !! he's been into horticulture for over 20 years....(he lives in france(works for the swiss federation on horticultural research and development)) im kina wondering if i have the "same genes" as him... cuz im loving it !!!! i find i cool... but if i were to tell him what im growin... hed be kinda pissed.... cuz hes not a marijuana kind of dude...(old old style) anyways just felt like sharing my thoughts....

My dad has a greenthumb but his is for outdoor Gardening. Every single year he always has a wicked nice garden. Well taken care of. I know that if our state ever makes medical cannabis legal that he would become a master grower of it. I know for a fact that he has never attempted to grow cannabis. He doesnt want no problems with the LEO,cant blame him.

well i guess it kind of works... i already got 3 baby flies.... im sure im not going to get all of them, but... i guess it helps lower the unwanted population XD

I like the creativty but I think that I would be to worried about inviting ants or other insects to your grow.

I went to the flea market last weekend and bought a pack of 10 fly strips that hang down for $1. I have 2 hanging up and both are fly free as we speak. Im thankful for that much right now. Hope it stays fly free.

yeah... when i lived in the us... ants were everywhere in the house... it was infested... in all 3 different houses i lived in.....
but here in quebec canada... ivlived in 4 different houses, and i haven't seen ants...... not one.... in any of the houses i lived in !!!!
but for other insects... all i can think of being in the house are flies..... plus a friend that ownd a restaurent closed and i got abox full of honey/peanutbutter for free.... so i just tried to experiment with what i have... whenever i reiceve my pay, il buy myself some strips and antkiller (just in case !)

Hey i<3, looks like your using 2700kelvin CFLs for vegetation stage, not 6500k? Have not seen that b4, I always use 6500k for veg and 2700k for flowering.....Also will that honey draw flies to catch on fly-strips? a new one for me as well, did you have flies in your soil?
