my HPS went out can I use a Halide for a day???

i think he is getting a little overwhelmed and confused by the people who make sense and spell properly ;-)

i really like his theory that they invented another type of ballast (lets say MH) even though its not needed as the HPS ballast works for both HPS and MH. yeah bud...they came out with a new ballast just to rip people off. give your head a shake.

just because something works it doesn't mean its the smartest thing to do...

its called change and new inventions. the world is full of new things. and yes any good salesman will sell you something you don't need for the commission. so you can take it for what its worth.

i have to back up my girls on this...
you CAN use mh with a hps ballst, but you can not use hps in a mh
i have seen this done for the last 4 years with no fire or problems...
lots of cheap asian growers in my city that use this method.

im just setting up, i just got a free 1000w ballast from a friend that owns a head shop up here.
it was set up for the last 4 years swithcing from mh to hps no problems.
so no i have not done it my self. but i have the exact ballast and light i have seen doing it for the last 4 years.
i also opened up the ballast and inspected all the wiring etc, it all looks fine.

its like this both mh and hps bulbs are gas. when you have a mh bulb in a hps ballast the bulb fires right up no warming up like it would in a mh ballast. now a mercury vapor light is one of its own.
