This my first grow and im growin in my closet. i have a box i made and 2 23w 5000k cfls. my plants are just less than a week old im useing sta-grow soil from lowes and mixed perlite in with it. i have a fan bouncing off the side of the box so they dont get wind burn.

thats the setup - the lights are about 3 inches away and everything seems to be healthy. usein tin foil to reflect light.

anything i should change or do diffrent? (these are bagseeds)
watering about every 2-3 days and my tap is 6.8 ph. ty.

Make sure those cfls are within 2-3 inch of plant tops. Also check everyday to see if they need to be moved up.

I check them like 2 times a day and what other options are better than tinfoil? just wondering. And they are 3 inches from the plant mostly just moves the lights for the pic. thanks

Something white. Flat white is best.

White is gonna be the cheapest.

If you have any extra plywood or cardboard laying around, paint it white and make a box.

Alright i'll look around for something that isn't flammable like computer paper. thanks for advice

You are going to need more light for sure... if you grow straight through even with 4 cfl bulbs like that your gonna have very fluffy buds... you could look into an LED... they are expensive but the cost of maintenance and electricity goes down. Mylar is what most people use for reflective material. I am sure kilz will work fine. Once you get going and keep reading you will find out fairly easily what all you need for your specific setup it just takes a little time to bring everything together... Goodluck

More Light!!!! I'm using 12 23watt cfl's for 1 plant.
What he say's. I used 2 55 watt, 14 26 watt, and 3 4 foot dual bulb shop lights mounted on back wall for sidelight.
Of course, you could buy a 400 or maybe even a 600 watt grow light for what that would cost.
I had most everything, so it worked for me, and it worked very well.
