Hey guys well it feels like its been years since i visited roll itup!

Its been well over 3 years since i grew anything! So im back and ready for another round of nuggety goodness.

So this time the settings different i am not longer in cold miserable UK but now in southern Europe where its hot hot hot!

For those that followed my last journal will have seen that i was growing with 125 and 200w CFLs
CHILDS PLAY!

This grow will consist of

Strain - Dark Devil or Red Poison (Cant remember which because i foolishly never labeled them and i accidentally killed on of them the other day so im down to one! but its exciting to see what one it will be ..mysteryyyy!

Growing Area - As before a converted space.... before it was a cupboard now its a wardrobe!
It's kitted with tin foil and everything! will be adding intake and exhaust in the coming week or so!

Lights - this is the game changer! because of the location and lack of A/C my only option was to go with LEDs due to low heat output... now i know alot of the HPS bandwagon will be shaking thier heads but when summer temps down here creep into the high 30s ... this is the only option. Its a Phytoled 200w full spectrum unit.... the only ones that any reputable grow shop will sell down here so i thought i would give it a whirl! She runs quiet and cool.

Growing Medium - Bio bizz light mix as per usual

Food - Standard biobizz affair as per usual!

Anything else - Just a lot of love and care...ohh and trying not to flatten this one!

SO LETS COMMENCE!

Here is a photo of the converted wardrobe! still to add a few extras such as intake exhaust (because it will get hot in a few months) and maybe some other goodies (need to watch humidity here)20170226_193034.jpg

Day 4

Enjoying the awesome power of our parent star! May give her a few days here and there on the terrace for some vit D!

True leaves are getting bigger than the cotyledons ! We're making good progress. Also gave her a little dashing of some very very weak root stim!

Heres an average reading of the grow space at around 9PM

Hoping to be able to reduce humidity in the next 4 weeks to around 50% (or lower) for flowering!

Day 5 - Early morning temps in the cab are around 24 degrees perfect and the humidity is between 60 and 70. No point in posting a picture today as she is much the same as yesterday! Give her a little spray of weakened rhizotonic.

Currently the LED fixure is around 21 inches from the top of the plant and seems to be a good height. Although i have very little experience on LEDS could anyone throw some suggestions my way in regards to optimum height from top of plant?

Thanks

Day 6 - Everything is sweet so far i checked on her tonight and the 2nd set of true leaves have started to develop! Also given the temps in the box she is either thirsty or they are a little too high as the soil had started to dry out! So before bed i will give her a nice drink laced with a very weak dashing of rhizotonic just to keep her going.

Temp - 27 degrees c
Humidity - 62%

Will upload a photo tomorrow for sure!

Day 8 - More growth of the foliage! This girl is doing great!

Although i cant help but notice the top 1-2 inches of soil are getting real dry and crispy within a short period of time... iv fed her twice nice in just over a week from seed. Is this a normal trait for using LEDs?

Temps - 27 degrees in the day time and 24-25 degrees at night/early morning
Humidity - Really variable can be as low as 55% and up to 75%

Heres a couple of photos :)

Day 16 - She received her first weak dose of "biogrow" i mixed around 1.5mil per litre of bubbled water (havent really checked PH) and she is responding well as you can see lots of new growth at the nodes. Although a concern now is temperature... i still havent maximised my airflow system yet (as i am a lazy bastard) but should really get on it as temps are hovering in the high 20's even pushed 30 degreees at some point. But other than that everything is good! watering ever 3 days now almost she is a thirsty girl!
Enjoy the photos!

Day 18 - Performed LST on her! Didnt really have any thing decent to tie her down except some cable ties.... they are very loose fitting and dint really bend the plant a great deal but she responded well and is still growing (no shock as far as i can see)

The next week will be crucial as she will sure to show signs of flower at which point i will change the light schedule to allow her a chance to stretch!

Feedback as always is welcome

Day 20 - Everything is going sweet ! I retied my plant for LST with some string as opposed to a cable tie (we not in the dark ages anymore) and she responded much better, im going to let her sit like that for the next 5 days untill the bent stems stiffen up... i am also checking daily to make sure the fan leaves dont impose on the new growth i do this by basically tucking them underneath potential bud sites... and as we can see its working i now have 4 potential main bud sites as opposed to one. After the next week i will continue to bend to achieve a perfectly flat canopy. Im still surprised at how well these LED grow lights are!

Here are some photos! LOTS of new growth! this plant is an absolute thriver!

Day 22 - LST is going down a treat as you can see by the photo we have 5 or 6 potential main bud sites! AND ALSO i think she has begun to show signs of sex, very faint hint of pistels showing but i will leave her a few days and confirm for sure! Apart from that no problems whatsoever still feeding her 1ml of grow feed per 1 litre of water. Her next feed i will put up to 2 ml as i would really appreciate some stretching by now. And have turned lights down to 20/4. The need for stretch is due to the LST is causing her fan leaves to crowd inside the pot because i feel i didnt put enough soil to raise the bed. But thats a lesson learned for next time and as for the textile pots ...CRAP i will be switching to traditional pots for the next grow!

Day 25 - PRE FLOWER :D:D:D:D

And about the right time! there are a fair few pistils coming through! She get her last big feed of Grow nutes last night, should do her the next 3 or 4 days because i really want her to stretch. The LST has worked wonders as you can see we have around 6 (maybe 8) tops coming through. Im going to let the smaller tops (hopefully) match the height of the others then i will remove the ties and let her do her own thing! So far so good!!
