how wet is it still? have you had it near an open window or outside? (during the daytime outside works best...the heat will help to dry it)...

how is it looking? can you see a bunch of particles on the bottom of the iso? well if not you should the more the alcohol evaporates. any pics?

lol its outside in the sun it is almost dry!!! yes i see th particals at the bttom lol it seems like it takes forever.

well you made more than i did im sure thats why...mine was dry in about 4-5hrs...it was just the trim from my purple wreck i harvested...before i hung it up i gave it a quick trim n made hash with the leftovers...my first hash attempt with iso alcohol got messed up because some moron told me to grind it in a blender and use 2 coffee filters to drain it...i thought it might have been too fine and it would leak through (which it did) but i figured he/she knew what they were talking about :(

i used the trim of like 4 plants for that and it got ruined.

this time (the way i told you about doing it) the hash came out properly.

try and stay patient...it will dry soon...once it does you practically have pure thc there for your smoking pleasure.

I've made some using the ISO method, so I'll share my experience, might clear up some things for people. In my case, I was desperate for a high (sad, I know) and all of a sudden it occurred to me that I had some 99% alcohol and that my grinder (electric coffee grinder which I use to break up my buds, 5 bucks from Walmart), which was pretty much clear of easily scrapeable stuff, still had plenty of residue from the many ounces that had passed through it. The lid had plenty of nice yellow residue as well (the yellow dust is great stuff). So, I swished a bit of alcohol around the grinder, around the lid and then poured it onto a ceramic dinner plate. To dry it faster, I put it in front of my bedroom fan and within an hour it was all dried up. The result was sticky black/green stuff and some yellow dust. I find the green/black gives you the "low notes" ie body stone and the yellow gives you the "high notes" ie head high. I guess the green/black you could call "hash" and the yellow "kief". Basically it's the essences from the magical herb we all love that get you stoned/high.

Making hash is really simple. The key fact to know is that the essences dissolve easily in alcohol, so putting any sort of MJ material in alcohol will quickly strip the green/yellow goodness out of it. After that it's just a matter of letting the alcohol evaporate, which it will do fairly quickly and then result is ready to go. Scrape it up and smoke with caution, because it will be STRONG. The green/black will make your body buzz and possibly give you couch-lock, and the yellow will make you feel really nice and happy, with less body sluggishness. Smoked together you will go for a nice trip into happyland.

Billcollector99: I'm not sure what you did, but like I say above, it is pretty hard to go wrong with making hash. I hope you didn't try heating the mixture to speed up drying...I'm not sure that would be a good idea. I'm still unclear on the whole "what heat does to THC" thing, some things I've read say they make it stronger, some weaker. Probably a case by case thing.

There are many methods to make hash and similar products, but the ISO one is the easiest and simplest I would say, though perhaps the most crude. Since I've never had "bubble hash" or anything like that, I can't say what I'm missing. It certainly is a nice simple way to make use of the "leftovers" once you've harvested your buds. Or so I read, I'm looking forward to trying it once I harvest my first crop. The hash result should tide me over until my buds finish curing.

BillCollector99,

Looks like you have a LOT of vegetation in your mixture. Not sure if you can do anything about that right now, but typically with good hash there shouldn't be any vegetation. If it hasn't completely dried (or even if it has), you could add some isopropanol alcohol back to the mixture to re-dilute everything and then restrain your mix, making sure to squeeze out any liquid out of the veg thats been absorbed (as this is what dries to make the hash).

Though tempting, I would shy away from using high heat to speed up the process.

you dont wanna heat it up (especially the iso method) because you CAN START A FIRE...ISO ALCOHOL IS FLAMMABLE...LIKE GASOLINE!

thats the reason why you shouldnt do it...

I'm wondering if anyone knows a way to "color" hash. Make it lighter or darker, or maybe purple? I want to give some friends hash for gifts, and want it to look like several different kinds, by making them different colors.

Food coloring?

THC is colorless, so if you have pure (or near pure) oil you can easily color it. Hash will vary in color, and might be hard to change, but you could always try...
