Gave the girls their second feeding of Purple Maxx today... keep your fingers crossed.

I changed the res for all three. The Master Kush and White Widow seem to be doing fine with the current formula so I used 10 ml per gallon of Micro and 20 ml per gallon of Bloom. But I diluted it to half strength to accommodate for the Purple Maxx feeding. pH around 5.7.

For the SLH, the leaves have been doing a lot better since the nasty claw incident. I dropped the amount of Micro in order to drop the amount of nitrogen. Went with about 7 ml per gallon of Micro and 20 ml per gallon of Bloom. Again, diluted to half strength and pH around 5.7

For the Purple Maxx, used foliar feeding method. Used about 2.5 ml per gal, adjusted pH to around 5.5. Sprayed the girls down with the fans off and blocking the HID bulb. I left my cabinet doors off for 1.5 hours to let it air out.

My next steps... continue running the girls on current nute mix. If they look like they're doing well tomorrow, I will do one more foliar feed.

On Friday night, I will change the reservoirs out to full strength nutes. For the Master Kush, I will make a mix to start "ripening" the buds. About 5% of her hairs are red. I will start using Gravity on her next week.

For the SLH and WW, I will continue with the same full strength nute mix mentioned above since they're behind the MK.

Let's see what it does this time. Here are pictures from tonight. I will post more pictures in a few days to show the different Purple Maxx makes.

B-eau-ti-ful. Dude they are looking so great. I know that's all I say, but what else is there.

Good luck with the Purple Maxx.

And you are rocking the gravity next... you are living dangerously. I like it. That gravity is just something else. I'm sure you've seen what it's done to my girls.

Keep up the amazing work bud.

thanks jigs. and don't worry about it, i pretty much post the same thing in your journal. the support goes a long way so really appreciate it.

yeah, your girls are absolutely ridiculous. still baffled. but yeah, hopefully if everything goes to plan the MK will get gravity on monday. if not, it will have to wait until after christmas. christmas is throwing my things off a bit since i will be heading to the folk's home for a few days.

very nice NS!
thanks chronic. things are starting to get exciting again.

Just read that Super Lemon Haze won the 2009 Cannabis Cup once again, going back-to-back. First time since 1999 any strain went back-to-back, which was Super Silver Haze, also by Green House.

Now I'm REALLY stoked to smoke my SLH! :bigjoint:

I have some really close friends coming into town during the week after Christmas so I plan on taking a small clipping of the SLH next week to sample with them.

You guys are not going to believe this...

It's all but confirmed that I have developed allergies to marijuana (luckily just the plants).

Weeks ago, I actually posted here in the journal asking if anyone has heard of people sneezing and having itchy eyes with marijuana plants. I didn't look too much into it, but suspected it was the plants. Started taking Zyrtec, no biggie.

But the confirmation came in the past week. After working with the plants, my skin started itching. Over the past week, I've started developing small pimple like rashes. I wasn't sure where it was coming from.

Well that answer came tonight. I had my arms deep into the plants while working on them today. After I was done, both of my forearms were itching like crazy and I started getting small pimples all over them. I rubbed my arms with some rubbing alcohol and it pretty much got rid of the problem.

I then Googled it and yep, saw a number of other people out there who have the same problem (some even have allergic reactions from smoking it).

I'm hoping it doesn't get any worse than this. I can tolerate these reactions... however if it gets any worse, my growing days may be limited.:cry::cry:

Purple Maxx does make a slight difference, though I'm not sure everyone is willing to take the chance of killing their plants. The biggest difference came from the Master Kush, which is much further along the flowering process. It's hard to tell the difference in the pictures, but the difference for all three is much more obvious in person.

The MK is done with Purple Maxx. I plan to continue use it on the SLH and WW on a weekly basis.

Check out the pics. The pics shows the plants before Purple Maxx (taken 12/15) while the right shows tonight.

1. Master Kush
2. Super Lemon Haze
3. White Widdow

I don't know what to say bud. That sucks. Maybe it has something to do with the purple maxx too?
Nothing you can really say. It's unfortunate, but at least I can still smoke it. In my research, I read that some people have even lost the ability to smoke it due to allergies.

I'm pretty sure didn't have anything to do with the Purple Maxx. I noticed the allergies even before any application of PM. Pretty sure it was just a slow developing allergy. My body was probably like, "what do we have here? oh, marijuana? let's fuck with this guy and make him allergic to it!"

A lot has transpired over the last several days.

My Super Lemon Haze continues to grow upwards. Not stretching, but the main cola just keeps shooting up. So I had to shift my plants around. I moved my SLH off to the side and moved the Master Kush to the middle. During the move, my Master Kush just completely collapsed. It could hold itself up w/o the support of the other plants and the cabinet. Pretty amazing. I managed to fix her up and she's doing fine.

I do have a concern w/ the SLH. Her main cola has the strangest growing bud. They appear to be growing pretty lose and not growing to form once nice tight cola. Her other flowers are doing better than the main cola. Wondering if it has anything to do with the clawing that took place several weeks ago. Take a look at the pic below and let me know if you have any ideas.

On Friday night, the MK went to her final res change. Went with 2.5 ml of Micro and 7.5 ml of Bloom. Tonight, I added Gravity to her res. Will run this for three days, changing to plain water starting on Wednesday. I'm pretty sure she will be ready to harvest in 2 weeks. Hairs are about 1/4 red and trichs are about 10-20% amber.

Tonight, also changed the res for the SLH and WW. The SLH got 8 ml of Micro and 20 ml of Bloom while the WW got 10 ml of Micro and 20 ml of Bloom.

Pics:
1. The girls
2. WW on the right, MK on left
3. SLH
4. SLH main cola, notice how lose it is?
5. MK before Gravity (will show a before and after difference in a few days)

I'm in need of some help guys. My SLH is really concerning me. At first, I thought maybe she was hermie-ing, but I'm not convinced that's the problem. The top half of her main cola does not look right. I looked up a lot about hermaphrodites and I just don't think that's it, but looking for a second opinion.

All her other flowers are perfectly fine and the bottom half of her main cola is perfectly fine. It's only the top. It's almost like the main cola is stretching, and only the main cola is stretching.

Pics 1 through 3 show the main cola, while the fourth pic shows the other normal buds.

Please help. Any ideas?

I really have no idea what's going on, but have a guess.

I think it might be that the SLH is such a sativa it may be kinda like that naturally. What I mean is I was watching this dude grow some unknown sativa in his backyard (here in so cal)... the buds looked like yours for a long time... like long foxtails. His plant turned into a 14 or 16 week monster. The buds never got to be giant and fat, but the calyxes ended up filling in the extra space making a bud.

It didn't look exactly like yours but have a feeling it's something like to do with the sativaness if that makes any sense. I'd start to be more concerned in a couple weeks if things don't fill in a little.

Nothing about it to me says Hermie... but I don't know what it says.

BucketHead... You have any experience with your SLH like this?

ya i second that....its not going hermie. I have had a few mostly sativa plants act like that. It happened with my dutch passion blueberry and some haze. You should be ok just let her fill out over the next few weeks. bongsmilie

hey i had a lemon skunk plant that looked exactly like that, it was a sativa and grew long skinny buds, but a lot of them, my plant looked exactly like that, the bud did fill out all the extra space but they were very skinny and very long, and they also took about 17 wks to flower, (i gave no nutes what so ever) anyway i'm pretty sure that is normal for some sativa plants

Thank you all for your feedback. It's really reassuring to know that it's not going hermie. I wouldn't take it too well if it were going hermie. It's amazing how different the bud looks on a sativa, can't wait to see the final product.

Well the Master Kush is coming down to her last couple of weeks. I tell you what, I will not do another grow without using Gravity. It is amazing how it makes the bud swell up. I drained the res and have started the flush, going with straight pH adjusted water.

The Super Lemon Haze and White Widow are still well over 3 weeks out. Both were supposed to be 10 weeks flowering according to Greenhouse Seeds, but my girls are still aggressively flowering. Topped the reservoirs off since I am heading home for a few days for Christmas.

With some really close friends in town, I took a clipping from each plant to dry them. Will be sampling all three with my friends and will be sure to let you all know how they are.

Check out the pic of the Master Kush, left pic is before Gravity and right pic is after three days. Look closely at the bud and you'll see the swelling.

Looking good neversummer28
Even that crazy looking super lemon haze you got haha
Worst that can happen is that you just have to turn her into some hash or oil, nothing wrong with that
I think she will fill in a good bit though
Keep up the nice work, even though you're a philly fan ;-)
