New Beginnings for Massachussetts and I

It is important to keep in mind that not all thugs sneak over your fence at night; many have nice offices downtown and offer big companies the exclusive rights to grow while still being happy to pass laws that imprison the little guy.

Don't you trust your elected officials for a minute; get politically active and keep the pressure on.

The way to make growing hemp a secure activity is to take the excessive profit out of it. When pounds are a few hundred or less, then thugs will have to sling something else and med patients will be able to get their medicine affordably.
I hear ya and agree completely, i want to be able to go to the local store and pick out a quarter for 20 bucks but i think pounds will probably end up around 500-1000 i doubt any less, but i could be wrong.. Lets be honest the weed these days most people only need a few hits at most, it would almost be irresponsible to have prices of good bud that low ! Lol

I see $200 pounds. And why not? It's no harder to grow than tomatoes.

im sure the supply and demand aspect of it could make it a possibility i just dont see it happening because of the relative potency of a gram. To a new drinker a 6 pack or a few shots will get you feeling good, and that costs between 5-10$, .5 will get a new smoker high af, and that costs 5-10$ retail. I definetly agree that prices for bulk amounts should be cheaper and for real disease like cancer epilepsy etc med patients cost should be non existant, and any profits from rec should go to the pockets of small businesses, but why not let them make their profits where its reasonable? Just my 2 cents, and maybe it would be a good thing if alcohol was way more expensive than bud!

Booze kills. I don't think that's a bad idea at all.

That's not the way agri-business nor big pharma work. Cost to the consumer is severely disconnected from cost to produce. So a farmer might have to sell class a product for $50/lb, it doesn't mean you will be able to buy it for that once they lock the market system down, A fisherman might get $1/lb for tuna they had to travel 100+ miles to catch and the market sells it for $15. Laborers of a commodity rarely make anywhere near what the market charges for it.

But the state doesn't want 20,000 farmers selling product. They want 10.

Seed to sale tracking and product testing are just the beginning. You wont be able to produce and sell weed commercially any easier than you can produce and sell any controlled medicine.

But, I can buy a 1.75 liter bottle of vodka for $10. That would get me ripped as f&^% in your lingo. And I can buy it in almost every city and town, even on sunday. Almost every teenager in this state has gotten drunk at least once. Almost every household has it within easy reach of kids.

I doubt you will ever be able to buy a pound for $200 unless you are distributor. Retail will be pricy. The state will set the taxes alone to discourage use.

I don't ever want to see pounds or any price drop like that. So here's my two cents. There will be many who try to grow pot. Out of those many let's say starting with a 100 people. After 1 year. I could almost bet that 15% of them are still in this on day 366. How many times do you hear Oo I used to grow pot. Yeah I threw some seeds I. The ground. Lmfao. I hear this shit all the time. They say they just stopped. No you got lazy and realized how much fucking work it is. My wife rides my ass I have two little men in home as well. So dinner work clean all that family shit. Well I'm playing in my garden because there's always something to do. I spend prob 25 hours in there a week. Maybe I'm just watching and looking or watering or moving shit how I want it. Needless to say this is all cool and fun for some right now. They will grow there oz or two and quit. Everyone thinks they going to get rich in home grow in a 4x4 tent for under 500$. Don't fucking work like that. IMHO. We all want the market to kinda stay where it is and always has been. Pharmacy will continue to charge 15-25$ g. 250-3$ an oz in Mass. The taxes and all that shit they have to. The tax are almost 31% more than reg taxes. Black market will always be. I want is to be 200 or so and hook a buddy up with a good price of 175$ let him make his and for GP.
MY 2CENTS........

wish i had a clone, would be so much faster than starting from seed. Im impatient to experience flower stage.
Hun once I cut some I'm going to hook you up. Idk if I told you this or not but I plan on it. I haven't clones yet I plan to do so in the next couple weeks. I'm on about day 27 in my veg room. I plan on running them in here for minimum 60 days and see what's what

My next runs will be "regular" seeds, so I won't know if they are m or f for quite a while. I'm only going to start 4 seeds and hope some are f.

My insurance policy will be to take clones of my current run. If I don't get enough f plants, I'll mix in the clones. If I do, I'll toss the clones or gift them to someone.

That of course assumes I can actually get some clones to successfully root. o_O

(Of course, a 3 plant in veg limit will seriously mess with this system. It doesn't matter though, a 2 oz. plant limit will shut me down even with 1 plant.)

Has beer gone down in bars? Non although it could cost $1 a bottle. Avg at a bar $7- $10z and is produced on a far greater scale then Marijuana.

$ standard price has always been $10 a gram most places for average weed.

There is a market for craft cannnabis. I don't see the prices falling down anytime soon. People might think a product being sold for $4 -$6 might be less quality vs $10-$15.

Some people might shop at target, while others might shop at Barneys NY.

Hey, new person from Mass, Boston area. Been growing a garden for a long while now and jumped at the chance to do this. I have a couple friends that need it for medical crap, and myself as well. I started a few bag seeds and some randoms from Nirvana. My grow space is sadly a little underwhelming, as I've been trying to not spend money until I bought lights. I got a few t12's running with a couple cfl's helping out. After the New Year I'll order some COBs from Alibaba and get moving with some real seeds, though.

Took me two days to get through all your posts in here. Now that I'm done, I thought I'd say hi!

Believe me i 100% agree with you on the hyopcrisy and double standards surrounding cannabis, And it was probably a dumb comparison to make with alcohol but whatever. the difference here is that we dont have prohibition level crime which was a huge factor in why thats regulated how it is, and why people let it happen, but as this is an emerging market now is the time to make sure that "Big Pharma" and other investors cant monopolize the market to the point of driving homegrowers to give up and just buy it because its easier and semi cheap. Now im no lawyer so i dont know how to go about that, but im sure there are ways to be involved in the process of drafting these laws without being elected, besides the vote we passed.

Welcome PenguinBoy, sorry you had to read through all my bullshit, LMAO.
great place here. im from north central.
No worries! We are all (mostly) new here. I like reading about everyone's trials and tribulations and general talkiness. In the future I can read it as it goes, rather than in one huge clump. (;

Not the state; those who bribe the state.

Everyone. The laws on all this haven't changed. And honestly. If you're growing now on a small scale like most of us are. Fuck them and keep it growing. I'm not going to change shit. Stay flying under radar like most of us people nvolved with pot like we all have been for many years.
