New CFL 2nd grow using Scott's Hyponex Potting Soil in 6" pots

yeah, that makes sence to me, so i just tried it. i took a temp reading in the veg box that has old bean in it and it read 88, so i took the big fan i have sitting in front of the intake hole out and in just a few minutes, the temp dropped 4 degrees to 84. good job chainseeker. now you got me thinking more about this and i will have to mess around some shit now. one idea i had was to mount the exhaust fans in the top of the box to work on the fact that hot air does rise and try just the passive intake. we'll see, more work, LoL.

day 5 and the little ones are liking their new home.

Yes sir I think moving the exhaust fan up top will help alot. Especially if it dropped 4 deg with it's current location. Plus you still have plenty of circulation from the air being sucked out. I also removed my intake fan and that actually helped a few deg. Neg Pressure!!! I wired my exhaust to run 24hrs now and no smell gets out. When u do finally get your temps permanently fixed you feel as if such a big weight has been lifted, well I did anyway. The babies do like the new home they especially like those dividers I can tell. Great idea btw and it may help my next grow.

thanks i will, i want to give a bud report when i cut her down, LoL. i think after shes out of there, i will move the 2 80mm exhaust fans to the roof, that way it will draw the air in and up through the plant and past the lights and out, should work. those 2 fans i have do run all the time, hooked up to a 12v dc power source from an old computer. it runs all the 12v fans for both boxes.

just mixed up a batch of mild nutes using jacks,gh gro, and worm castings, with just a dash of ortho up-start for the new plants. they should like this and really take off now. also was reading this today, i think i will try it with these plants. New sexing technique cant hurt.

well, its day 6 for the new plants, im still not sure when i want to top these plants, i topped new bean at 8 days and she did real good. i might wait till day 12 this time and then put them on 12/12 at day 15 again. i wont be LST'in this time, just top and let them grow, if i get 2 females by chance, i will need the room for 2 plants this time so i'll just let them grow up.

yes i have, thats what new bean is, theres 5 main colas, i topped her at 8 days old and this what i got.

its day 7 for the new plants and yes, there looking good, LoL.

I gotta say those are some nice looking seedlings.Cant wait to see pics after the nutes.Go man....

its day 8 for the new plants, they dont have names yet because i dont know what they are, but there looking good. the yellow thing i made to get rid of gnats, its covered with vasoline and is suppose to atrack the gnats. theres no gnats on it but they are gone. i let the soil dry out a little and that helped also. if needed, i will add some sand.

ok single pics, from the looks of it, there are 3 different types. my seed collection consists of abox with all the bag seeds ive been saving so its really random, LoL. the first 2 pics are old bean, which was a male, and new bean which is the female im getting ready to harvest next wednesday. then we have the 3 new plants, 1-1, 2-1, and 2-2. this just for comparison, i think im on track, LoL. i just started giving them the light nute mix last night.

day 9 for the new plants, looking real good. the middle plant is way different than all the others ive grown, hope thats the female.

today is day 10 for the new plants. the 4th set of leaves are just starting to come up and those are the ones that i am going to top. they arent quite ready, but there real close. i will watch them tonight and cut at the right time, more pics of topping later when i do it. i really thought that 2-1 and 2-2 were the same seeds, but 2-1 is way different than the other 2. the pics are a little fuzzy, but i circled the 4th set of leaves on each, when that tip comes up just a little more, cut cut cut.

i just topped 2-1 and 2-2, 1-1 isnt quite ready so that will happen in the morning. as you can see, i cut about 2/3rd the way down the 4th set of leaves. this will soon turn brown and then hopefully, 4 new shoots will pop up all around the stub. again sorry, im using a cell phone camera so some are fuzzy, but you get the idea. the first 3 pics are of 2-2 and the next is 2-1 and then the cuttings off 2-1. i will again wait till day 15 for them to recover and then put into 12/12. they are already on a mild veg nute mix which i will change at day 16 to a mild flowering nute mix.

Wow you are really aggressive with the topping!! I didn't realize you could top em that young! I think we might try that next time. Great stuff...Look forward to seeing more.

yeah cb, i start early, LoL. thats what i did with new bean and you see what happened. the new plants are still looking good after topping 2 of them. 1-1 still isnt ready, maybe tonight. so i took the tray outside and banged it on the ground a few times to stir up the dam gnats, what a pain in the ass those things are, i did the yellow thing with vasoline and nothing, then the viniger, still nothing. also, let the soil dry, still there, so outside and shake them outta the soil, so far so good. no more gnats. while they were out, i also got all the stray ones in the box.

temps running about 84/86, which is right where this box always seems to run. as soon as new bean gets cut down, i will go back to 6 bulbs in the box for the new plants. those other bulbs are in the veg box where she is finishing up, should be real soon.

day 12 for the new ones. i toppep 1-1 last night so all 3 are now topped. in a couple days i will go to 12/12 to start sexing and hope for a female. the clone/new shoot/bud i cut from new bean is also in the box with the new plants just to see what happens with it.

day 13 for the new plants, 2-1 and 2-2 have new shoots coming in already where i topped them, i get some pics when they get a little bigger and we see how many tops there will be.
