I'm definitely exited to see how things turn out. It amazes me how these plants veg, can't wait to see them bloom
Just be patient when flowering and realize it takes 2 or 3 times longer in flower than veg. It's a slow but exciting process . Not sure if you stated yet but ehat strains do you have all goin?

I have no idea what the strain is. It's just bag seed. I thought it would be good for my first grow that way I could make mistakes on these seeds and not good ones ha!

Train early and often dont worry abought hurting the plant. If indoors from seed i suggest a mainline. In the future if you have a problem check ph first. Not only is it the easiest to check but the easiest to fix. Not counting making sure not to over water lol.
I agree, if you're not pressed for time mainlining is worth it. It's fairly straightforward and easy to do as well. If you're worried about being able to safely top and split let it grow an extra node or two and cut it down a bit further so the stem is a bit sturdier, eventually you'll be topping them while the new growth is tiny to save a bit of veg time. I think I cut roughly a week off of my veg when I got more confident on working with smaller stems. I don't specifically manifold/mainline anymore but I definitely follow the same general idea of making a nice flat canopy before flipping. These were some potential mothers that I decided to flower after picking my best this go around.

Just remember the exact way you train usually doesn't matter so long as you use 100% of the area of your lights footprint. Filling your area and light are the two biggest factors of yield in my experience, nutrients are pretty minor in comparison to environment. I used to be in the headspace that having a full line from AN/Canna/whatever "Best nutrients available" with all sorts of additives was the way to go. Now I veg with just my soil amendments, tea and kelp/fish emulsion, and bloom with 1 pk booster, and a couple of other products that I liked over the years. Less is more is generally a good mantra. The only exception yo that is pest control. Always better to be safe then sorry, just do your research on what you're using. A lot of people will recommend commercial pesticides that aren't necessarily safe for indoors, or for a product you smoke.

Agreed! I've never even grown from seed before which is the complete opposite of everyone else on these forums . We have clones we can buy here in oregon at the dispensaries.

I'll definitely do some research about mainlining, I'm just trying to keep it as simple as possible my first grow. Once I learn how to grow the plant proficiently I'll start experimenting and figure out what works best for me. There's a lot to learn to be a good grower, it'll just take time and mistakes to figure it all out. I appreciate the input, thank you!

Right on, I'm gonna be moving out there in due time. I love Oregon, and that's good to know. Definitely saves you some time rather than straight seed!

Definitely. There's always more to learn, I've only been growing on my own for a few years now. I had helped friends with their gardens for about 10 years before I got around to starting. I still learn new things every day, plus I get to help my parents start their organic farm. I've been getting my mom into soil biology, composting, and making teas.

Right on! Ya I guess it's all about how deep you want to get into it. I want to learn how to make my own mediums and teas myself. What would you recommend for a good medium my next grow. The soil I am using for this grow was a bad choice. I was thinking about running coco next time but I don't know.

Ive seen friends of mine with great grows in coco but I have no personal experience in 100% coco. I've mixed it 1 part coco 2 parts promix and had good results. Recently i switched to roots organics greenlite and have been liking it. A lot of growers I know use promix bx and amend it to their liking basically. The only real important thing is to stay away from big box store brands like miracle grow or Scott's.

Keep your eye out for well known local composts and mixes too there's a local supersoil here that's becoming very popular and it's about half the price of other mixes.

Kelp4less is a great site for amendments and other needs.

Garunteed genetics and being a female is nice. There's cons as well . Bringing in mites or othet pests from there clones. But i have obtained some really good strains from these dispensaries . I'd love to try a round from seed still but not sure where to buy and how legit they will be

I'll look in to promix, thank you. It just sucks the area I live in doesn't have a hydro store. Only thing we have is home depot and Lowe's. I could look into ordering some, I just hear soil is expensive to ship.

It is quite expensive to ship. You can order better soil delivered to a home depot or wal mart iirc. They have a lot of stuff listed on their websites as online only, home depot even has bubbler brothers dwc buckets listed online I'm pretty sure. I'm sure they have other soil mixes there also.

And with pro-mix you're going to want either the bx which is soilless/all peat or the hp which is a soil based medium. I skip the antifungal and just get the one with only the mycos added in.

Shit I'll be happy if I make bud haha, I'm hoping for a couple oz. Gotta set my goals up a little!

Okay I know I'll come up with something, might just mix my own blend and go all organic. It's worth a shot, I'll just keep doing research. I have some time till my next grow. I really appreciate your help!
