hey guys I just turned on a 12 site titan flo n grow (ebb and flow) hydro system and I was wondering what people were running for basic's.

my timer is set for 30 min flood every 2.5 hours

PH before addatives 5.9 after 6.7
I am running Home and Garden's Aqua Flakes

ppm's 900

rez temp 79 degree

2 air stones in the rez

under a 1K room temp is 80 degree.

any suggestions or ideas?

i have the system also it grow some awsome trees .you need to insulate the res barrel lowes has some rolls of reflective insulation material.you should get your p h down to 5.5 to 6.2 max. check out heizenburg thread on tea brewing .you need to add frozen water bottles to the res to keep your temp below 71 or move it out of the grow room either w.ay you need to get the temps under control i water 4 times in 18 hours 3 in 12.i have 3 600 watts lights its barely enough light for 15 plants .with 12 you schould have 2 1000 lights .the system really does produce . good luck i forgot i use a paint mixer on a drill works great

I run mine at x3 flood a day during bloom and veg. for bloom 1st flood at lights on next 6hr later then the last at lights off, and for veg I do the same.
each flood is 30min.

your res temps could and should be lower your going to have pythium/bactiria issue later down the road.
add as much air as posable.

everyhting else sounds good.

thanks for the feed back guys!

I did notice the barrel swetting a lot, and spray foamed the shit out of it, and I'll box it in with 1/2 insulation board later this weekend. The rez was starting to smell pretty rotten by the 4-5th day and I am draining and refilling every 7 days, so if the bactiria is an issue, is there any good fix or early preimptive program I can look into?

Fuesedstoner, thanks for the heads up, this is exactly what I did, and its making a huge difference. My water starts out at 59 degeree's and was going up threwout the week, now (and realy just today) I'm seeing the temps stay low but not as low (68) as it looks like I should have (62). thanks for the idea about frozen bottles in the rez ;) and I got that PH thing handled too, lower th PH tha I thought after initial food and the additaves crank it up to 6.0, they looked 100X's better within a day and a half.

Hellraizer, I have been great luck with the 15min on every 2.5 hours but since i switched to flower (with one 15 min. flood at mid point in the night) for flower and they don't look as happy, so I will try switching the flood times and not having any nighttime watering.

on the side note, with two weeks of veg. these thing blew up! I'm thinking of upping the PH slowly over the next few rez changes closer to 11-1200 any thoughts?

thanks again for the help guys!

for the PPM you shouldnt need to go above 1000ppm, hope changeing the flood time helps!
be battleing bactiria there are couple of way to handle it, 1st is sterile 2nd is bennys.

sterile for a new person to hydro my be better for now, option are--

#1 plain bleach uncented at 4 eye drops per gal you can go to 7 but start at 4.
try adding once a week if this issue dont go away then move to every three days.

#2 29% H202 for a 55gal titan res add 200ML every three days without fail.

bennys will be more involved il post a link for you to read.https://www.rollitup.org/dwc-bubbleponics/361430-dwc-root-slime-cure-aka.html

hope this helps

listen to hellraizers advice its sounds solid . i like to brew the benny tea it works .only other thing i can think of .is youre gonna have to support your tomatoes before they overgrow themselves .this is my second round useing this system its pretty amazing .also secod hydro grow .ive learned a lot from all the great people an the information they shared on the forum.anyway have fun and good luck

thanks again, I'll probably go with the h2o2 this round and work with the beni's the second. I am by no means a master gardener but I have been growing organic dirt for years with composts and AACT's but I was under the belief that a rez system like this was to difficult to manage a living brew. It looks like I need to do some more reading and less listening to hydro shop guys. lol

Check craigslist for an aquarium chiller, something that will keep that water cool with that type of system do it right hell you have a nice system.

yah a chiller is a must in hot areas, but you got that right dont listen to grow shop owners there just aiming to sell you everything they can

I agree in keeping your temps down insulate the barrel and use a big air pump use outside air if cooler with alot of stones this will help in temperture a chiller will set you back a few bills but worth it

whoa, aquiriam chillers are going around 5 bills! for that price maybe I'll make do with frozen water and insulation untill I can spring for a bigger system and use the hydro inovations full water cooled room.. 5 bills is a large enough chunk its worth thinking about how the whole system works.. thanks for all the great info guys!

btw, the silver insulation tape unstuck when the barrel began to sweat, so i have spray foamed the thing, 6 cans of spray foam and insulation board boxing it in.. we will see if this works better

eazy way to chill a res is to add lots of air and where the pump feeds the air if that airs cold then so will the air
in the res! maybe look into a cheap beer fridge and put the pump in it run the air line to the res, just a idea

YOu can get used ones on craigslist, brand new yeah they go for around 400 -500 bones.. But dude you have such a sweet set up keep adding the pieces as you go along for now if money is a issue go with a floating of frozen water bottles and try and you put the air pump in a cooler room and run long lines or put a small fan pointing at the pump to get cooler air to the res.

thats the plan. right now i'm looking at commercial air pumps and my chest freeszer ;) but with what I see already, this system WILL get all the pieces, as its working so well with only 80% of the pieces :)

thanks again for all the help guys. stalks and leaves are as big as any outdoor I've grown but plants are all 3 feet high

i have about 3 weeks to go on my finished tomatoes .they grown soo fat that they all fell over . now i have to try to figure someyhing out .my next cycle im gonna try a net system or the sea of green . lol i should of taken my own advice .peace i hope you switched to flowering.they will double in height:joint:

I'll try to get some pic's up this week. It's a little odd, the plants look great! green, big ass leaves, more branches than ever BUT there is a hiccup, the plants i'm flowering are real fast (47days ish) and at a little over a week of flowering i don't see them popping yet (usually they jump right to it and take their break about 2 weeks into flower) I don't know if its not enough light or just a slower start-up do to the added size of the plant. Obviously, I have never had the kind of root growth i'm getting here which adds easily 20% more mass to the plant, hell it could be that i'm just more impatient with the new set-up...

BUT I'll post up some pics today if i can find my camera.

Thanks for the interest guys
