newbie question

1 the seeds cracked when in a box in a closest 2 5 days and seed i planted on top of soil like i was told didnt show any improvements 3 the soil i donno i stole it from my parents flower pot all i could get but it looks like its got perlite in it (perlite is white stuff that looks like styrafoam right?) and its got wood slivers, and bout it i know its prolly bad soil but best i could get its winter and theres a foot of snow out side couldnt get any dirt and do u need to apply nutes to your plant i need to grow a plant without nutes i got no money for nutes

let me get this straight, you just left the seeds on the surface not buried ?

some guy (victor visious or something think i spelt it wroung) told me to put the tap root in the soil and leave the seed on top of the soil

He's wrong but it's slightly possible it would survive.

the tip was getting lighter brow n beileve it was drying out
