Every person i have spoken to has told me carbon filters work 100% - ie they remove ALL the smell. I'm skeptical of what you say Closetgrowth, but I'll soon find out who's right!

Of course, not all activated carbon filters are created equal. That's just a fact. Some work better than others. (Don't ask me to rate every mfg cuz I aint no expert) Some work LONGER than others. They wear out ... or their microscopic pores become saturated and it can hold no more.

Whatever. I use a CanFilter66 $200. It will be replaced every 12 months. I use a Elicient 8" 750cfm inline fan with a TV2 temp/speed controller. I exhaust through my roof vent in the attic. I'm at week 7 of flower. 8 large plants, including the super stanky Lemon Skunk. ZERO SMELL outside or inside my house.

In my opinion: if you are having smell issues, you either ... 1) have the wrong equipment. 2) have the right equipment hooked up wrong.

Your post is MOSTLY accurate.

Im a running a fresh canfan 33 venting out through my attic.

Im also running an air lazer ozone generator at the same time.

My room is pretty much air proof except for a small vent at the bottom of the floor thats needed for proper air circulation.

With the use of 2 odor removal devices, It never takes away all the smell.

I would say its 80% effective.

If you say your house is 100% odor free,
I wont be able to believe that.

Your probably used to the smell is all.

Ill bet if someone walked into your house, they would be able to pick up on the smell, even if its a hint of a Cannabis odor.

I have been in many grow houses in my time, and I can ALWAYS pick up on the scent.

If you got it Zero'd down, then more power to ya!! Good job! Consider yourself "Lucky" ;-)

The only time it's noticable is right after I've been tending the garden. It gets on your hands and you carry it around the house (i haven't touched the plants in 24 hours and I can still smell it on my fingers right now). But if I stay out of there ... absolutely smell free inside and outside of my house.

I probably am used to it ... but I've had plenty of guests over and they've never said anything.

lol i thought most ppl smoke before they grow n smoke weed stinks enough who cares about the smell it smells good anyways

burning weed smells completley different then a blooming plant. the plant obviously has a much stronger odor. just be careful.

and will one carbon filter clear a small one or two plant closet grow up pretty well?

Thats a funny story bro..Hahahahaa

I remember when i was like 14, I grew some plants in my parents attic.

Didnt have any idea that weed smelled when flowering.

One day my parents got a whiff and got suspicious, and went up into the attic...

Found a big flo setup, and many decent plants on top of a table..

The things I did, and still do.. Hahahaa!

Well, to make a long story short..

They kicked my ass out. :finger:..Hahahaha!

Best thing they could of done.

Made a Man outta me, and taught me survival skills. :bigjoint:

Now, Iam still the crazy guy I used to be except For I use a 1000 watt Hps, instead of flo's! LOL!

Just came across this thread and it's basically 100% true. I knew it would stink during flowering but not 2 weeks into vegging. Now I'am panicking, ordering carbon filters, zeolite crystals, fans. I thought I could wait till flowering, I wasn't prepared.

I'am just growing bagseed from a good batch of shwag I had. I wanted to start AK-47, WW, Kush, Skunk.. you know the ones that people always brag about. I know now to make sure I read the stats on each strain.

My next order is going to be NL #5 before I read this post but it just reinforced my decision. Only bad thing is I know a guy gowing diesel and NL is a sub strain of diesel so my friends always going to think his is better.. :(

I didn't read the whole thread so I you discussed it already, sorry. I was wondering if you could explain some of your time in the penn.
