Hello guys. Im a noob who could use a lot of advice. I have a very simple set up, and little money to further invest. I have a long closet with sliding doors, about 12 foot by 2. Im only using about 2 square feet of it though. I have four small clones in eight inch pots, and a 400 watt HPS about 18 inches above the tops. I have a box fan to keep temperature down, and it lingers at about 80 degrees.
Here are some of the problems I need advice with, keeping in mind my current poverty. There is golden light seeping around all the sliding door frames. Duct tape would work, but then I cant open the door, and because of the type of door, weather stripping is not an option either. I will eventually have a grow box, but I cant afford the proper vent fans, or box yet. To block some of the light I have bought some mylar to cover a 3 sided cardboard box, so most of the light is reflected back, but my fan can still cool them. Will this suffice, or is there a better idea? I also need to address the fact that without a fan leading outdoors, my CO2 levels are low. Maybe I should try one of those yeast buckets ideas, but how well do those work with a fan blowing the air about a large closet? Also, I should probably transplant them into larger pots, because I want to re-vegetate them after the crop. How big should the pots be, keeping in mind I only want my plants one or two feet tall. And when flowering occurs what is a cheap way to abolish stench? Thank everyone for your time, and keep up your scholarly volunteer work.
Oh, one final question. I have read a lot about nutrients, and they vary so much. As I understand it, I want high nitrogen for veging, and lower for flowering. I bought all purpose miracle grow with 24-8-16 concentrations. is this usable, and how often do I add nutrients to their water? Thanks my stoner Socrates'.
