That is correct !
Ah, very cool idea. What kind of A/C are you using?

I have an idea for you.

1. Take a water cooler, the one with the bottle you get from the water store.
2. Replace the cold tap with an on/off spigot.
3. Run the cold water line from the water cooler into your circulation tub
4.punch a hole in the water bottle on the cooler and circulate the water back into the bottle.

You'd have to deal up your circulation tub to be water right, but you'd end up with a cheap circulating water chiller.

The seeds you are getting are femanized and doesn't mean they will hermie got about 20 seeds from a plant that hermied from heat and I have ran 6 of them not a singe one threw nanners or seeds.
VERY interesting !
Yea, BOTH plants have seeds.
I had already determined I was gonna save them.
I'll give them a try on a future run.

Well... I have a decision to make this AM.
The other day I finally topped the dwarf Jack Herer and in the simple process, I managed to F it up.
I broke one of my 2 mains over, but not completely off.
I immediately tied it back up to hold the scar together.
It took, and will likely be OK, but it will be a while till I can tie it down safely.
PLUS it's really small in size compared to the GoldLeaf, but has a great root structure.
And the GoldLeaf is bigger, but I do not like the root structure on that one.
I think it got a little root rot from the AeroGarden.

I am seriously thinking of cancelling this grow and starting over with 2 NEW seeds.

Res change today anyhow, I will decide soon.....

Sorry to hear about that fish, I swear I can feel the pain when I break/cut stems by accident. Good luck with your decision, it's not an easy one.

Yea, I've decided to re-set this grow.
I busted my hump to get these last mods done to the fridge and I just feel that I don't want to wast time and $$$ nursing weak, damaged, or dwarfed plants.
I dug a dozen seeds out of the jars of my current crops and the biggest of my 2 remaining Jack Heror seeds.
Hopefully the Jack will be a strong plant ant the other seeds illl be narrowed down to the 3 strongest, healthiest from each strain.
I will then put the Jack in the center of the AeroGarden and 3 Goldleaf on the left and 3 AK-47 on the right.
It will then be a competition to see which other of the 6 plants get to go in the fridge with Jack.
I NEED to get 2 EQUAL plants growing a nice even canopy to really get a chance at the 1 gram per watt.
I need to increase the stash so I can afford to make some edibles, tinctures, oils, etc without dipping too much into my smokeable.
Stay tuned !

Well, a setback, then a fix !
I was reading and refreshing my memory on mainlining and there is a modified version of the manifold by "Nebula" that saves about 2 weeks of veg time !!!
Normally you grow the plant to 6 nodes then chop to the 3rd, then grow those 2 out to the 4th node and chop them to the second.
Now you have 4 colas.
Then you let those 4 grow out and then chop one more time to get 8 colas.

An excerpt from Nebulas Mainlining tutorial:
http://www.growweedeasy.com/manifold#strain-choice

1.) Create "Base"

  • Let young plant grow 6 nodes
  • Top to 3rd node and clean all extra growth except top 2 growth tips and their fan leaves
  • Now you have 2 main colas - these form the "base" of your cannabis manifold
2.) Create 8 main colas

  • Let each side grow 4 nodes
  • Top to 3rd node on each side
  • Instead of cleaning all other growth like in the last step, just remove all the growth from the 2nd node on each side, leaving growth from node 1 & 3 on each side
  • Now you have 8 colas!

BOOM... that's it
And with the EXACT same results as the former technique !!!

Back on track now baby.

Plus, maybe additional inspiration for others to try mainlining.
I know I'll be doing this till someone comes up with a better method of growing huge nugs.

We have seed poppage !
Jack popped and 4 excellent candidates from the AK-47 as well as 4, (not so robust, yet) GoldLeaf seeds.
Gotta start cutting the rockwool plugs and get them soaking in PH'd water.

Hey fish, how do you germinate in rockwool? I've been having no luck of sorts, now I know why RW isn't so popular. My taproot made a u turn in it's hole sand snapped of it's tip... bloody hell, I hope she'll contuinue to grow.. if not I'll just have to start over.

I cut my rockwool (1-7/8" long x 1-1/4" dia) plugs in half longwise and trim them to fit in my little AeroGarden baskets.
Then I thoroughly rinse them under the tap to remove loose pieces.
Then I took a wooden skewer and opened a hole all the way thru for the taproot.
Then I PH a bowl of water to 5.5 and add a drop or 2 of GH Rapid Start and soak the plugs for a little while.
When ready to plant a seed, I take each basket and sling out most of the moisture by swinging my arm 4 times fast in a big arc.
Then I open up the top of the RW a little larger so I can get the taproot pointing down thru the hole I made and nestle the seed hull down about 3/8"-1/2" down and fluff a little wool to just touch/hold the seed hull.
Then I add 10 drops of the PH'd liquid in the bowl to each pod, right over the seed and put the dome on.

The trick is to not keep them too wet.
The seeds will rot and turn to mush.
Check several times a day and add a couple drops of liquid as you think they need to stay "humid/moist"

It's ON bitches... who gets to go to the Prom with Jack.....? o_O

Sure, that's easy, and stress free to either plant... right ?

Nah, I am gonna have 2 strong plants on the way soon !

lol you got me there. It's none of those things, but i've always liked a good frankenstein plant :fire:. Besides, I never really got why people thought grafting was so bad. If you have a sufficient amount of nutrients to feed and keep both plants on one stalk happy I see it no different ('stress' wise) from mainlining.

And mainlining works great! Don't think anything will be coming soon to replace that technique. It works and makes sense on a physiological level. You create equally bulky stems through training and chopping, redirecting how the plant supplies its' nutrients and you have all stems equally competing for apical dominance. It's just a fucking brilliant concept.
