So I have little white specs on my leaves. I have looked and its not mites. I don't see thrips or gnats. I did have an out break of fungus gnats months ago. I put a layer of de on top of the soil. It worked.

I'm thinking it is my water. I emptied my rain catch due to cold. I have watered with my tap. I quit using my tap for this very reason.

I guess it is time to buy water or put a ro system in.

I will top dress with de to be sure. Maybe sand.

Are the white specks bugs or something else? Can you get some magnification on them & see?

What's the matter with your tap water?
I've never tested my tap but we are close to the treatment plant. The chlorine is so strong the smell is incredible, it also irritates the skin when taking a shower. Actually burns sometimes.

When I moved I started having problems with plants. I finally went to a rain catch for the veggie garden. Problems went away.

I'm not certain its the water. I don't see bugs either. I have a 30x loop and 60-100x pocket scope. I don't see anything.
I'll see if I can get a better pic at lights on. It will be a couple hours.

I do know that I had fungus gnats. The diatamacous earth killed them. I have a sticky trap and there is none stuck to it.

Do you have a water softener?

The reason I ask is the water softeners that you add the salt blocks to are no bueno for growing (I read, not experienced).

Its not de that's blown around is it?....... I've freaked out a second over ashes before
Its freaking mites. I looked and looked. Its not bad yet. I made some insecticidal soap and I'm going to order something.

I do have problems showing from the water to.

I'm not sure how I got them. I keep the cab sealed and my lights come on at night. I've had a shower and clean clothes before I work with them.

Thought about using the soap and making a nicotine spray to see if I can knock them. Follow up with a pyrethrum then a miticide.
