TBH hotspots is really just how you lay out the boards, QB's can be prone to hotspots also if you have them too close together.0

yeah I got 4 individual heatsinks for that reason rather than 2x 600mm ones, I'll make a bit of a frame and distance them 900mm part and have one board over the middle of each 2 square feet portion of the tent

I personally don't see the point of taking the risk of the Chinese sellers not providing the product promised when you can buy genuine Samsung LED strips with LM-561C s6 diodes on them, for roughly half the cost of the Quantum boards. - Hell, I just picked up 100 of the 22" strips from Arrow for $9.74 apiece, free shipping. Thats the equivalent of a QB288 board for $39.

For 39$ you get everything needed not just the board. The heatsinks. Wagos, wire, hangers.i known those are pretty cheap to buy as well, but something about the QB people want. And the strips are rarely in stock, that I've seen.
I do get what you're saying though.

in my case, it was more just a matter of needing to get them into tent asap, I'm very much hands on and love diy but with these I'll have them landed next week and in the tent in a matter of minutes, without a doubt if I end up doing another build it would be a complete custom build, knowing how I am it'd be 2 months in the planning lol but theses cheapo's can be producing flower in the meantime. I still plan on customising this build to a degree and doing some cable management etc. at $550 au landed in 4 days I'm willing to take the gamble.

If I can find it, there was someone on here that did an awesome looking hlg custom build, I plan on doing something very similar

with trade insurance, you might get some of your money back...but the shipping, the nerves, the wasted time.... these losses count far more...

I have just finished a very bad experience with Meijiu Led. They send DIY kit without connectors, screws, malfunctioning external plastic dimmer - which was priced at 14$ without being asked, very poor communication and not willing to negotiate the reinbursment of their mistake. I managed to get the money back thru alibaba trade assurance, but the nerves, the delay spent wont compensate the cheap price you get there. As more people say and i wouldnt listen, i wouldnt buy again...maybe except pcb, or individual components, nothing assembled there in terms of tech is worth buying... So guys, beware of Meijiu if you are looking for a long term reliable connection, you might get 1 of 3 complete orders. Dont waste your time and value on cheap things, your brainjuice and health worth more...
