Sorry iv been lagging a little on my journal, as of yesterday by buds are curing in jars! It feels great to have this grow under my belt, over all im a little disappointed with the quantity but the quality is A+ and that was really the most important thing to me. Let me bring you up to speed...

After 48 hours of darkness me and a good friend chopped the branches one by one, removed all fan leafs, and stacked them on a sheet of glass temporarily:

Once all the branches had been harvested, I removed the pots, cleaned the inside of the tent, then raised my screen up and hung each bud upside down from it.

They hung dried for exactly one week. I left my little fan from the grow in there to keep the air moving. The first day of drying my tent was wide open, then day by day i closed it a little more until on the last day the tent was completely closed. I did this to slow down the dry more as they got further along. Then yesterday each bud was manicured and jared. My final product is these three 1.5 liter jars full of bud, and about a ounce of trim/popcorn buds.

Yeah maybe they could have. I waited until I could consistently find one amber trich on every bud i looked at under the microscope, then I gave them 48 hours of darkness and harvested. Harvest day happened to be exactly 8 weeks into flowering. Any guess on what my dry weight will be? I was hoping for a half pound but I think thats out of the question haha

They look great Nat, what I would of done was harvest half at week 8 and then the other half at week 9 so you can see whats best. They look dank to me bro! I would blaze them budz....

Peace

Thanks FM, I guess your lucky then because you CAN blaze them budz... :bigjoint: haha thats a great idea though that would really show whats best for my next grow. My issue is that I dryed them in the tent I grew them in, so I couldnt dry and grow at the same time, but looking back it would have been easy to just hang them in the closet. Next time

Do you have a weight yet? Looks like a decent haul. I'm guessing 6 oz dried. Really hard to tell from the pic though. Anything over 6 would be a success. If not, more can be done next go round. The holy grail is 1 gram per watt of light. At that math 400grams should be the ultimate goal. I have heard that a SOG is the fastest and closest way to get these numbers in a space like yours. If you have access to a dozen clones, consider rotting them, giving them 2 weeks after transplant into 2 gallon pots and flower those whores. You would be happy I think.

I know this defeats the purpose of having a cool-tube; but, You could remove the ducting altogether and leave nothing but the carbon filter and fan. it would suck air much more efficiently from the entire room. I would bet 100 bucks the temperature would be the same or a couple degrees lower if your did. Your combo looks 350cfm or better. You could simply leave a 4 inch or better hole near the bottom of the tent as a passive intake. My large room uses this method. Here is a pic of my intake holes in the poly wall. Just an idea.

Does the carbon filter need to be hooked up to the exhaust fan in order to be effective or could it just sit in the room somewhere?

I havn't weighed them yet, been waiting for them to become completely dry first, I guess they are probably almost there though. Id be happy with 6 zips though for sure, that would pay off all of my equipment and leave me with enough bud to smoke until next harvest :leaf:

Yeah from what i can see the SOG looks like the most efficient method, but im a prop 215 grower so im stuck with a limit on my plant number :/ thats why I went with the ScrOG this time, to prepare for my next grow where I will be pushing my legal limit a little more. Im getting 3 closets set up, so ill have 4 veg plants and 8 flower plants at all times (plus mothers and clones) and thats using a scrog. Someday we will be able to grow this plant freely and I will convert to SOG though

A carbon filter has to be hooked up to a fan, the fan can be recirculating air within the tent though it doesnt have to blow out through your exhaust. Although I think its a good idea to hook it up to your exhaust because that way all of your air gets cleaned before leaving your grow. But to answer your question, if a carbon filter isnt hooked up to a fan it wont do anything because air has to be sucked through it to be cleaned.

I use Von's brown paper bags to dry my buds
Iv read about that, most of the threads i read were on doing your first cure in bag though after a hang dry, do you go straight to the bags?

Yes. In order to draw air through the filter and out of the room, at least an exhaust fan needs to be used to move the air. The higher the cfm rating, the faster the air will be evacuated from the room.

I would be happy with 6 zips too in my first scrog. But it could be better. I knew I should have re-potted the mothers and waited an extra week or so to let them recoup from their last clone reaping which striped every branch bare. I was going to toss them in the garbage because I thought they would be too big for the mother's closet. I figured I would try a scrog and see what happens to a mother if flowered shortly after a reaping. I am more interested to see how the 3ft by 2ft scrog in my big room will do since it is a more accurate portrayal of a healthy plant under a scrog.

Though, I don't really prefer the scrog. I believe I am a master at LST and ways of slowing parts of, or a whole plant in order to achieve an even canopy. It is an art learned through experience alone. But, as was the case with my current mothers and the 3 THC Bombs that were started 3 weeks earlier than the rest of the 3 dozen in the larger room when a lot of vertical height needs to be stopped, nothing holds them down like a tight scrog. The 3 in the larger room will completely fill the screen by flower flip end of this week. The branches should grow like tall colas from the screen, rather than buds across the screen. Perhaps you could use this method to achieve a SOG style grow with a couple plants. Filling the square footage with as many branches in the goal. Creating a scrog covered in branch sites relatively easy. Once the screen is absolutely saturated, flip the screen and let the branches grow straight up, without touching them again. Here is a shitty example of what I mean, but it was all I could find; imagine this, but planned.

After I chop them they go directly into the bags. I take them out of the bags twice a day. Takes a little longer to dry but it wont dry fast and make your shit smell like hay or grass

@Duder, you are a master LST. Dont be so humble.

Peace

I'm pretty sure the genetics of 707 Headband are Sour Diesel x OG Kush, and then back crossed w/OG Kush, And the flowering time is around 8-9 weeks
