Organic Hydro

I'm finally going to invest in a hydro set up (one of the bubbleponics) and it will also be my first real organic grow. What is a good 'easy' organic product that I can get that will work well with hydro. I know there are a ton of brands (Roots Organic, Earth Juice, BioBuzz, Humboldt Nutrients, ect.), but what does everyone think is a good, general, easy-to-use organic product for a newbie to both hydroponics & organic?

I'm using foxfarms organic right now in my dwc and it seems to be working fairly well.. my first go around too so you may want a better opinion lol..

Not all Fox Farm is organic, though, right? I think just Big Bloom is organic. I'm currently using ff for my grow as well, but it isn't all organic. Not sure though, they may have more that I just don't know about.

if your going to go the hydroponic route i would just use chemicals. organic nutes must first be disolved my the culture living in your grow media. using organic nutes for hydro just dosent make scence.

however use that fox farm on soil and see what organics really have to offer.

Do you even have to do that with already pre-made products like Earth Juice and Botanicare?

ya sure

the reason people use hydro is because the grow media is devoid of soil thus the nutes must already be in a stage in which a plant can use them.

when using organics the micro organisms that live in the soil are there to convert things like worm castings into a usable form of plant nutrition but this takes time thats why some prefer hydro because plant growth is faster(no difference in bud)

so if your gonna grow hydro i would use chemicals because you will have faster growth. your rez most likely wont get root root. you can use h2o2.

i am an organic man myself buy if you already have the system i would use chemicals

I was wondering because I have used chemicals, ALL chemicals,it did grow fast and big but the high and taste seemed like it was lacking. So i was thinking of makeing my own tea or useing earth juice to see if i can change my results. Still have the same strains to compare and setup (getto ebb&flo).

i would avoid using organics in a hydro system and tea for sure. you will clog you tubing and potentially damage your pump.

the taste problem that your refering to is one of two things.

improper curing(takes at least 1 week with frequent air exchange)
improper flushing(don't use nutes for the last 2 weeks with chemicals)

theres a massive difference between the taste in chemically grown bud and organically grown, regardless of curing and flushing

That's extremely true. Plus, organic grown ANYTHING tastes, smells, looks, and (in weeds case) smokes much cleaner/smoother. Plus, it's just healthier over-all for you and the plant.

Plenty of people use organic hydro, so there's no reason why it would be bad to do. True connoisseur cannabis is never grown with chemicals, no matter how long you flush or cure for. A case for not using organic in hyrdo just doesn't sound reasonable to me.

i have noticed that organic bud burns more throughly than chemically grown bud. organic weed will leave behind grey and white ash as you smoke a bowl. synthetically grown bud leaves behind blackness. not until the bowl is almost completely gone and you keep hitting it and roast the shit out of it does the ash turn grey.

I have also read that there is scientifically no proven difference between the two... who knows.

i think the biggest problem hydro growers have is they dont properly flush away the old nutes before applying new ones. this causes salts to build up. the imbalance of salts causes lock out of nutrients and the plant has trouble producing resin glands. since the plant shows signs of lock out most people just add more nutes. your weed ends up less crystally and doesnt really smell.

I would say use BMO, but only if you're using ebb and flow or a dwc, any kinda spray/drip system would most likely get clogged like a mother
Otherwise, Id say look around the organic forums a bit, I think there was another post about this somewhere

I did flush my plants the last two weeks and cleaned the res. every week but next time I might start earlyer 3-4 week flush, I cured some buds for a month and it did help but not a whole lot.

Haha this thread has some funny shit ...

It goes to show how big of a misconception organics really are...

Everything in the world is chemical... even you!

In a hydro set up, organics means that you will have to manage a war in your res...

A whole range of bacteria effecting all sorts of chemical reactions... the possibility of it getting out of control is very real....

If you use chemicals, you are putting in your res the same chemicals that would eventually come out of the "organic war"...

Al B. Fuct said something once that I will not forget, as long as I am indoors...

"In an indoor hydro set up, the only living organism should be the Cannabis plant"...

I agree... just because I am not in the hobby of growing bacteria...

Any site about aquaponics will shed a great deal of light on "real" organics...

You can have clean chemicals... you do not have to use pesticides..or other poisons...

But I will say that pot grown outdoors, in properly prepared soil, with organic fertilizers from a good compost pile, will taste better (in my opinion) than anything else.. period... it just has more of that ... earthy tone to it...

So I would keep my plants as the only ones alive in my tent... no bugs at all for me.. big or small...

Well, I have painted the red target on my forehead...lol...

hit me back....
