PC grow case

I don't see much light leakage the way the case is lined with reflective bubble-wrap. Hell looks like hes got the exact same computer case as mine, at that!

Also, you can expose a plant to full-moon intensity light during the dark cycle. It won't cause problems that I've seen. Little light cracks are okay. My current grow closet has sliding doors that sure as hell don't block out light very well. Still managed to flower without issues.

Hey KaliKitsune.
I was talking to BTK3ill about a case he posted up a few pages ago with pcgrowsomething.com stamped on it. I think you are talking about LOLsauce's case, the one I said was awsome.
If you look at the correct case then you will see two 4 inch holes in it. They are right above the canopy level. Most of my posts in this thread after that pic discuss why those holes are problematic and what BTK can do to use the case as it is whilst still getting reasonable results.
I also said it was likely that plants under those holes would hermie. That's different to saying they will.

I think what you say about moonlight may also be a bit misleading. There's a world of difference between light that has travelled right past earth to the moon, been bounced off and travelled millions more miles back to earth, and broad daylight leaking through gaping holes. You may have been lucky with some slightly leaky doors, but would you seriously put some holes in the top of your growroom to give your plants moonlight?

do you 12/12 from seed/clone Kali?
Nope. I might do it with this next setup, I'm going to attempt DWC.

Not misleading you on the moonlight. There's a certain lux/m2 to reach before destroying the hormone that triggers flowering. A simple sheet of construction paper would be sufficient to block the light to the extent necessary.

As for the case, I was talking about BTK3ill's computer case. Forgive me if I got mistaken somewhere along the way and you were talking about another case.

As for the commercial PC grow box shown - Well, those holes aren't that problematic, the construction paper as mentioned above would be simple enough. After all, PC Cases are designed to pull in air from bottom and dispose of it at a higher level, and since that's how most grow rooms get set up it's a perfect configuration with minimal outside modification.

What upsets me the most of that commercial grow box is price and the lack of 12v stuff. One REAL computer power supply without those holes would have worked fine for the heat venting as long as there was a fan pulling in, plus you could have run several 12v devices like fans and pumps, and saved on making a fake-ass power supply plug. Okay setup, pretty bad execution on parts.

The home-done cases seem better all around.

I wonder if the are using the standard pc D cord plug as a power supply? It would be fucking awesome to figure out how to convert a PC power supply to run lights.
Maybe I will pull one out of my pile of PC parts and see what I can do. I think most devices run on 15watts of power.. or maybe thats just the fans... I will do some research if anyone is interested.
You can get 12V CFL lights, 5V computer fans, and 12V air pumps. Perfect for running off the computer power supply. You've got a built-in power tap right there in a computer case!

You should of got the case with the adjustable shelf to move the plant up and down, that was sweet.

I am getting the same box, it should be here next week. I bought the combo veg and flower so I can keep it constant. Also ordered some Afghan Kush Ryder Feminized and Dutch
Passion Taiga Feminized Auto Flowering. I am very excited about this I am doing a soil grow. I would add some lights in there put another dual bulb lamp in the case then you could have 6 bulbs going, 3 2700k and 3 6500k bulbs.

Great pics there BTK3ill. Plant looks very healthy.
The round leaves provide all the plants needs until it can fend for itself. They are meant to go like that. Try not to feed nutes until the food in the soil is used up too, probably 2-3 weeks after the cotelydons have dropped off.

You'll understand my use of smaller pots and CD cases to support individual plants soon.

Consider raising humidity levels. Mine have done that when they were very low, maybe 25% RH.
It isn't fatal though.

I dont know about that because his were in the same closet as a hydro system that made his windows in his room drip with water, so it was very humid and they were pointing up from seedling to finish
